What and honour it was to judge a breed that I have grown up with at Crufts. I thoroughly enjoyed my time judging and I was totally delighted with my winners and to find out after judging that my two CC's were from the same kennel, Clingstone's, and my two RCC's both Foxearth's, was a trill. I did, however, find a number of exhibits who were not presented in the best order, nails not trimmed, dirty and even some that didn't smell to great, it is a short coated breed so there really is no excuse and nails take seconds to trim. I also still found that fronts are still a concern in both shoulder and length of upper arm, therefore restricting reach on the move.

VD (2) 1 Williams' Ch Foxearth Forward Thinking For McClelland. 9 year old sable male from a kennel I have done well in the past. A well proportioned dog who moved with drive. Lovely clean wedged head which was smooth in outline. Lovely dark eye of correct shape, lovely fill through the front, good  lay back of shoulder. Moved very nicely coming a going, delighted to award him RCC and best veteran, he was unfortunate to come up against the CC winner today. 2 West's Alopex Oysterman. Another 9 year old, this time a tricolour. Unfortunately was showing his age much more than number one, maybe its time to be resting on the sofa.

JD (3) 1 Tiranti's Wynele Sea Captain Garthfield. Blue merle who has good proportions and a nice shape. Good fill through front, pleasing head plains, moved well. Would prefer tighter feet. 2 Vickery & Lusty's Blamorder Bero Bear. 13 month tri who I would prefer a little more length of body, not the front of first so did not reach out on the move. Good feet, good rear movement. 3 Ignatova's Quanto Levi Angel Silvestre. Blue merle who was very unsure of himself so a little hard to assess.  Overall would prefer a little more of him as I found him a tad feminine, his nails could also do with some attention.

PGD (6, 1) 1 Eke's Foxearth Flag Day. Not the showiest of boys, but well put together and was shown in excellent condition.  Lovely outline and moved well but would prefer him to move with more purpose. Good correct head and lovely eye. 2 Cowling's Koczkodan Nostromo. Head in proportion with size of dog and good proportions, he moved well coming and going, but I found the rise over his loin was a little too much for me. 3 Beeney's Coneypark Black Sabbath. Heavy throughout male who's expression was spoilt by his ears being set a little to wide apart. Pleasing  through the front but found he dropped off at the croup therefore not giving him the outline I was looking for.

LD (1) 1 Denton's Brackenhaye Fields Of Gold. Sable male who was shown in good condition, would have preferred a better shoulder and was a little strong in the head for me. Well angled in the rear just would have liked him to be move positive on the move.

OD (12, 1) Sadly I found a number of exhibits in the class to have either level bits or missing teeth. 1 Nurmkiari & Grohn's Int/Nord/Fi/Se/No/Dk/Ee/By Ch Clingstone's Lap Dog Ee/It JCh JWW-15 NORDW-17. Very impressive sable who took my eye as soon as he entered the ring, shown in the best of order, lovely proportions giving a clean outline, super clean head which was correct from all angles, correct eye shape giving the correct expression, moved with reach and drive, Stand out male of the day. CC. 2 Cole's Ch Sturtmoor Dream Of Kasvelyn. Another sable who is well proportioned and covered the ground well. Lovely shape, just found him a little strong in the back skull for him. 3 Nurmikari's Clingstones Rick Rolled. Sable and white who is a real showman. Would prefer a better layback of shoulder which would give him more reach on his profile movememt and found him a little plain in head for me. Correct outline and moved well coming and going, had a tendency to carry his a tail a little high at times.

GCD (4) 1 Cole's Ch Sturtmoor Dream Of Kasvelyn. See 2nd in open dog. 2 Vickery & Lusty's Blamorder Bero Bear. See 3rd in Junior Dog. 3 Holloway's Coneypark Coldplay. Fourth in Post Graduate, sorry he didn't stay for a critique.

VB (2) 1 Cole's Juniperwood Just A Dream. 7 year old tri who was handled by a very confident 6 year old. Lovely shape and moved well both coming and going, very feminine throughout and a very pretty and correct head, would prefer tighter feet. 2 Forbes' Multi Ch Kangasvuokon Venice (Imp Fin). Sable girl who showed her socks off, lovely size and nice ears giving a true expression, not the front or rear of first. PB (2) 1 Fort's Shulune Imperial Design. 9 month old who was super for size, drops of a little in the croup and was a little unsettled on the move. Nice muscular neck and good front and rear angels, good feet. Should have a good future once she settles and matures. 2 Benton & Bemelman's Oakestelle Asteria. Nine yr old tri who, for me, I would prefer more of all over, needs time to develop through the front and her head wasn't as wedge- like as I desire.

JB (2, 1) 1 Trundley's Juiperwood My Dream. 16 month blue merle, once again of a nice size with a clean outline and good forechest. Pretty head giving a sweet expression. Needs more strength in her rear and her nails could do with some attention.

PGB (6, 1) 1 Meacham's Blamorder Curlywurly Girly At Zellamere. Young bitch who has a correct proportions and shape of body, lovely size, nice head and rear.  Would like better front development and needs to settle on the move. 2 Russell's Koczkodan Serenity. Another who needs to settle on the move, good shape and firm topline, head with parallel and straight lines.  Pleasing front and rear. 3 Flower's Breckamore Butterfingers. Tri bitch who unfortunately didn't have the head or eye of first or second. Moved well but would prefer a firmer topline.

LB (4) 1 Pletz-Kazantzis & Busby's Foxearth Fandella. Tri bitch who was shown in lovely condition.  Correct head and body shape, to be a little critical would prefer a better layback in shoulder and a short loin.  A really show girl who pulled out all the stops on the last go round to be awarded RCC, I'm sure it won't be long until her title is gained. 2 Sweeney's Plaisance Blue Belle. Nice blue merle girl who sadly did want to show herself off today. Good coming and going, pleasing front and rear and another one with lovely proportions. Correct head and expression. 3 Forbes' Natalain Kilkenny At Willowhurst (Imp Rus). Good shape and correct head plains, ideally needs more fill through her front and a little out at the elbow.

OB (10, 1) 1 Asikainen & Nyman's Ee Ch Clingstones Make My Day Cz/JCh/Ru/JCh/Lt/JCh/Ee/JCh BaltJW-14 EUJW-14. This girls name could not be more correct as she certainly made my day. For me this bitch is the blue print for a Smooth Collie, and in my eye is as near perfect as this breed could be. Upon entering the ring she came at 100 miles an hour, but when I asked her to slow down a little this bitch truly took my breath away. Correct from every angle and an absolute delight to go over, her head was beautifully balanced and a clean wedge shape, lovely almond eye giving her a beautiful expression. She has a well arched neck leading into super shoulder and upper arm placement, lovely topline and super rear angles, giving her that wonderful drive. Just a shame she is not staying for other people to appreciate her on a regular basis. It gave me with greatest of pleasure to award her CC and BOB then to watch her go on to be award Group 3. 2 Feijter's Lux/Bel/Ned/Int Ch Gallant Darya Happy Magic Star JW NJ. Tri bitch who was of nice type and pleasing to go over, correct coming and going, she had a pleasing head but I felt her handler wasn't getting the best out of her today. 3 Leikola & Tikkanen's Natalain Satellite Of Love. Another nice bitch this time a sable, good to go over and moved ok, preferred second place coming and going, but I felt this bitch had a firmer topline.
