Without tickets. I would like to thank the Society so much for inviting to judge smooth collies at their Championship Show. I enjoy judging this breed so much. My job was made easy by my excellent stewards who kept everything running smoothly and were clear and attentive in all their actions. Finally my thanks and appreciation to the exhibitors, some of whom had come a very long way with quality exhibits. I found a variety in size and some dogs that were constructed very well, I found a little coarse in expression. All the dogs were well muscled and had correct bites. DOGS:?MP (2) 1 Loader's Coneypark Countdown For Allan Gill. 11 month sable dog. Very mature, top size puppy dog. Masculine head, with dark well shaped eye, well, placed and used ears. Strong neck and firm topline. Very sound coming and going and moved round the ring very well for a puppy. Hope he has finished growing now. Best Puppy Dog, Best Puppy In Breed & Best Dog. 2 Hayward's Foxearth Fly Forward. 8 month old sable baby. Very promising, very happy and very immature. Handled so nicely, developing head, gentle expression, strong ears, good flat skull. Everything is where it should be and is coming together well, correct amount of bone for age. Movement is beginning to settle and lovely side gait for one so young. J (2) 1 Denton's Brackenhaye Fields Of Gold. 17 month old sable dog. Very balanced on the stand, lovely soft but masculine expression. Nicely moulded head with good ears. Well arched neck onto firm topline which he held on the move. Excellent movement both coming and going and gaited round the ring. Well muscled. Res Best Dog. 2 Beeney's Coneypark Black Sabbath. 11 month old tri dog. Very masculine head. Well proportioned body in good balance. Excellent side gait, looked like he could go all day. Excellent muscle which gave him good drive from behind. PG (1) 1 Denton's Brackenhaye Fields Of Gold. BITCHES:?V (1, 0) 1 Coates' Alopex Blue Moon. 8 year old blue merle bitch. Very happy, feminine bitch, attentive to her handler. Refined head of correct proportions. Excellent shoulder and upper arm, firm topline and good tail carriage. Still very sound and flowed round the ring. Best Veteran. P (2, 1) 1 Lusty, Williams and Hutchings' Blamorder Ice Cream Dream. Very happy baby, 10 month ld blue merle. Very feminine with correct scissor bite and nicely place ears and eyes. Very sound on the move and just flowed round the ring. J (3, 0) 1 Beeney's Brackenhaye When We Dance. Very balanced 17 month old tri bitch. Would prefer a more feminine head and expression, but this bitch gained this place on her superb construction. Excellent angulation fore and aft. Well laid shoulder and good length of upper arm, firm topline and good tail carriage. Superb movement round the ring. 2 Flower's Breckamore Butterfingers. Very feminine 13 month old tri bitch, beautiful head, well placed dark eye, good ears. I loved the femininity of this bitch but she was not so well constructed as 1st. Her topline and angulation were not as good as 1st. 3 Lusty, Williams and Hutchings' Blamorder Ice Cream Dream. PG (2, 0) 1 Denton's Brackenhaye Shape O'my Heart. 17 month old tri bitch, lovely head with dark well shaped eye and well used ears. Well balanced body. Good angulation and well carried tail on the move. 2 Carpenter's Plaisance Eva La Belle. 22 month old happy tail wagging blue merle bitch. Excellent neck of good length and firm topline. Perfect scissor bite and good ear carriage. Movement difficult to assess because of novice handling. I understand this is the first time this handler has shown her dog but more practice at ringcraft would really help. Don't give up, just keep practicing and seek advice from more experienced handlers. L (2, 0) Two lovely bitches in this class, I just preferred the more feminine profile and expression of 1st. 1 Hayward's Foxearth Fine Beauty. Lovely feminine 4 year old blue merle bitch. Beautifully balanced in profile, excellent angulation fore and aft, firm topline and good croup and tail carriage. Flowed round the ring. 2 Coates' Seanua Scotch Mist. 4 year old sable bitch. Lovely topline, beautifully arched neck of good length. Good bone, very sound on the move. O (5, 1) What a lovely class. Thank you exhibitors for bring your beautiful bitches. 1 Hayward's Ch Clingstone's Hotshot At Foxearth (Imp Fin). This glorious 6 year old tri coloured bitch took my breath away. Standing, alert and attentive she looked the epitome of a smooth collie bitch - her portrait should hang in the KC art gallery. Standing she oozed quality and femininity, so balanced and in proportion. Beautiful head, dark well placed eyes and ears constantly alert. Strong arched neck flowed into well laid shoulder and good length, well angled upper arm. Firm topline, right amount of bone. Moving round the ring she looked elegant and collected. Best Bitch, BOB and BIS. 2 Beeney's Ryecombe Jolly At Coneypark. 5 year old sable bitch. Balanced head with dark well shaped eye and well used ears. Lovely shoulder and upper arm, ell muscled mature body, firm topline and excellent tail carriage. Movement was very sound. Res Best Bitch. 3 Lister's Manordeifi Miss Daisy At Newarp.
