It gave me great pleasure to judge at this very well organised show. On the whole the quality was very good, my only comment was the height of the tails on movement which does spoil the overall profile of the dog. I would like to thank my steward and the Club for making my day so memoriable. JD (1) 1 Denton Ryecombe Jaffa Jake. Tricolour of nice make and shape, just maturing into a nice dog. With pleasing eye of correct shape, well proportioned head, with flat skull, well angulated front and rear. Co-operated well with handler. PGD (5) 1 Giddings Ryecombe Discovered Gold. Well developed and angulated body of good proportions. Head handles well with good back skull and well rounded foreface. Eye of good colour giving the desired expression. Good length of neck and tail, stood four-square and co-operated well with handler, moved with drive. 2 Forbes Est Rus Ch. Kangasvuokon. Well presented dog who commanded attention for its good overall shape, very pleasing head, carried on a well arched neck of good length, tail well set on. Good angulation front and back and ample depth in body. Preferred the movement of first. 3 Cook Ryecombe Duncan Disorderly At Kimbru. LD (3) 1 Hayward Foxearth Flintab CC. Merle of very good colour, well-broken with rich tan. Good angulation front and rear. Well proportioned head carried on a well arched neck good depth in body and heart room. Straight front standing on good legs and feet, well bent stifle moved very well and co-operated well with handler. Well deserved CC which I understand makes him up. 2 Forbes Natalain Veni Vidi Vici At Willowhurst (ImpRus). Another top quality dog who commends attention. Standing on good legs and feet, straight front with good bone. Head is well proportioned with flat skull and well rounded muzzle, nicely placed eye, giving the desired expression, moved very well and co-operateed well with handler. 3 Woodstock Shulune Imperial Guard At Hylaird. PB (1) 1 Woodstock Kangasvuokon Valentine At Hylaird NAF. BPB. Stood alone, but deserved first place, as she is of very good type and well constructed, nice head which is well proportioned with well rounded foreface and neat ears, which she showed to perfection. Moved very well before and aft. JB (2) 1 Beeney Ryecombe Jolly Jonquil At Coneypark. Very pleasing overall make and shape with very nice profile. BEST IN SHOW

Championship show: I was delighted to be asked to judge Best in Show/ Referee at this lovely venue by the committee of the London Collie Club who all made me very welcome. My first decision of the day was for BEST OF BREED ROUGH and found the two exhibits standing in front of me very pleasing. The bitch Chantique Simply Dreamy is almost 3 years of age and has the most delightful outline. She was in full coat and beautifully presented. Her head is clean with correct stop and just enough moulding under the eyes to give her the sweetest of expressions. Her lovely eye placement and ear carriage could not be improved. The dog Ir. Ch Jnr. Ch Caronlea Lord of The Dance is coming up to 6 years of age. A shaded of sable of super quality. His head is just a joy to handle. He has a well filled rounded foreface, clean cheeks and correct stop. His eye placement is superb and he has the sweetest of expressions. I really liked his front assemble along with his deep ribcage and his overall bone and substance. He was presented to perfection. In the run off between these two I found the rear drive and front extension of the dog just gave him a few points over he bitch. BEST IN SHOW:The smooth Nu Dk CH Clingstones Sounds Good is a superb representation of the breed. At nearly 5 years of age she is totally in her prime and she stole my heart. A tri colour who looked every inch the champion I understand she became on the day. She has the most lovely front with correct width, decent upper arm and so correct lay of shoulder and well arched neck. She is well muscled and she moved with drive from the rear and with good extension in the front so covering the ground in an easy light stride. The bonus for me was that combined with all this she is still so very feminine with a fabulous head, very correct stop and the most dreamy expression from her dark well placed eyes. I could not deny her Best In Show. Best Puppy in Show was the rough bitch puppy Hana of Lowlands Green Valley at Starlenga. Best Veteran CH Buebezi Belle Mystique De Cathyja.
