First of all I would like to extend my
grateful thanks to all the smooth collie exhibitors for their fantastic entry, a
record entry of smooths, I felt really honoured, not only was it numerically
strong, but also in depth of quality. And such soundness to be seen, In some
classes I could have done with more red cards, and I had some tough decisions to
make! The limit and open classes in both sexes were a joy to behold! And as for
all the lovely quality of the youngsters coming through then the future indeed
looks bright. I was very pleased with my line up in both sexes, and was
delighted with my main winners, and may I thank you for the sporting way you
accepted all my decisions.
MPD (3) 1 Denton's Ryecombe Jaffa Cake. Very mature, well presented and
upstanding tri, who, I have no doubt will trouble the best when older, lovely
head planes with a lovely dark eye, neat ears, giving him the sweetest
expression, good neck, length of back, and lovely quarters, deep chest, lovely
free mover, carrying his tail correctly. 2 Baker's Tomalca Caught Ya Lookin.
Sable who is not quite as forward as 1st, head handled well, just not quite as
sweet in expression, good ear carriage, body shape, good quarters, moved
soundly. 3 Bell's Koczkodan Nosblyth.
PD (1) 1 Rice's Kevranna Theras Sunny Spirit. Eleven month sable boy
immaculately presented in good condition, and, as they say, "fit for purpose"
lovely make and shape with a good depth of chest, neck, length of back, really
nice head with an expressive expression, very attentive to handler, moved
soundly with a correctly carried tail.
JD (5) 1 Hayward's Foxearth Flintab. Upstanding blue, of a lovely
colour, presented in pristine condition, another "fit for purpose" and could do
the work he is intended to do! Good for size, has plenty of heart room,
possesses a lovely neck and shoulders, length of back, and good quarters, neat
feet, good head, eye, neat ears which he constantly used, another who powered
round the ring effortlessly, with maturity, have no doubt this boy will make the
upper house, Good Luck. 2 Forbes' Natalian Veni Vidi Vici At Willow Hurst (NAF).
One who I judged previously when I awarded him RBPIS at a breed club ch show,
unlucky to day to come up against Flintab, pleased to see him again, looking so
well, very enthusiastic showman, who gives of his all, well balanced, lovely
head eye and expression, moved round the ring soundly, on well boned legs, neat
feet, another who I have no doubt will do well in maturity. 3 Cook's Ryecombe
Duncan Disorderly At Kimbru.
PGD (5) 1 Bott's Mcclelland Hot Shot. Another lovely sable, ( they
really are looking good these days) nicely made in good coat, well balanced all
over, with a good neck, length of back, well let down at rear and well muscled,
good front and shoulders, head is of good length, nicely filled foreface, dark
well placed eyes and neat ears, carried well, with a kind expression, just wish
he would make more of himself! Moved soundly. 2 Giddings' Ryecombe Discovered
Gold. Another lovely sable of similar make and shape, (splitting hairs between
these two) no doubt they will change places many times! And so sound on the
move, good topline. 3 Leach's Manordeifi Dionysus at Hilltarn.
LD (5) 1 French's Foxearth Flock Master at Breckamore. Well presented
Tricolour who simply came into the ring and demanded I looked at him! And I was
not disappointed, very impressive lad, well made all over, lovely clean head,
well shaped and placed dark eye with his neat ears gave him a most exquisite
expression, good reach of neck, shoulders, length of back, depth of chest, and
good firm quarters, well let down and muscled, moved round the ring soundly,
keeping a level topline ,covering the ground with ease, One who indeed has a
bright future ahead of him, and I wish him well in his quest to the upper house,
Priveledged to award him the RCC. 2 Williams' Mcclelland Hotter Than Hell.
Another well presented tricolour who was unfortunate to come up against Flock
Master, (such was the quality that I wished I had more red cards) nicely
balanced all over with good conformation, ample bone neat feet, and well muscled
quarters, Good head properties with dark expressive eyes, neat ears, very
attentive to handler, yet again a very sound mover. 3 Norman & Ratcliffe's Easy
Listening At Seanua.
OD (4) First, I would just like to say that all four in this class
deserved a red card, but unfortunately, I only had one, such was the quality! 1
White's Ch Foxearth Frappuccino. Was really thrilled to see this lovely
tricolour, as I have admired him from the ringside since he was a puppy, and was
in no way disappointed on going over him, he completely captivated me! Simply
oozes quality, from the tip of his nose to the end of his tail, and what a great
ambassador for the breed, my hands told me everything I wanted to know about
him! Cleanest of heads, with a lovely dark eye, nicely placed and shaped, ears
on top, combined to give him an exquisite and sweet expression, without being
feminine, well filled foreface, good under jaw, possesses a lovely reach of
neck, good shoulders, length of back, good body, plenty of heart room, well
muscled and good angulation fore and aft, very attentive to his handler, but his
forte came on the move, covering the ground with such ease so effortlessly,
holding a lovely topline, and carrying a correctly set tail. I had no hesitation
in awarding him the CC & BOB. Thank you for the opportunity of judging him. 2
Mckenna& Bardill's ChMacgee's Street Spirit Of Plaisance (Imp). Another worthy
Ch whom I last judged as a youngster, and was so pleased to see that he has made
it to the upper house, thought then that he was worthy. Has matured into a
lovely adult and today was so unlucky to come up against Frappuccino, he is so
laid back, nothing fazes him, looking well, in jet black coat of good texture,
has a lovely head piece, with an expressive expression, good make and shape with
good quarters, well muscled, ample bone neat feet enabled him to move soundly,
very attentive to his handler, I thank his sporting owners for bringing him. 3
Hutchings' Collidach Molloney Ta To You.
VD (3) 1 Lister's Ch Eridor I'm Mr Blu At Newarp (imp) Aust. This boy
needs no introduction, I awarded him RBIS at a Breed Club Ch Show back in the
summer, and is still looking as "young " as ever. And still sound on the move.
GCD (2) 1 Trundley's Juniperwood King Of Kings. Five year tri, good
conformation, ample bone and substance, neat feet, head handled well, stood and
showed well and moved soundly. Some lovely puppies with such quality, I did not
have enough red cards.
MPB (5) 1 Beeney's Ryecombe Jolly Jonquil At Coneypark. Beautiful sable
baby of seven months just right for size, with a lovely make and shape, with the
most lovely feminine expression coming from her well placed and shaped dark
eyes, good body, ample bone, neat feet, moved really well for one so young,
super temperament, was a real little professional. 2 Moores' Tomalca Buttons and
Bows at Manordeifi. Another lovely baby, but of different type and not quite as
forward as 1st, she is of lovely make and shape, with a nice head piece, very
much enjoying her day out, just needs time now to do a bit of growing up! 3
Baker's Tomalca Top Totti.
PB (6) 1 Hayward's Kiiramanna She Makes My Day At Foxearth. I was
really smitten with this beautiful blue, I could have easily taken her home, not
only is she a really lovely colour, but a born showman, and I would say that the
upper house is waiting for her! She simply has quality written all over her,
there is nothing that I would change on her at this moment in time, just right
for size, cleanest of heads with the most sweetest of feminine expressions, ears
right on top, good reach of neck, well laid shoulders, length of back, deep
chest, super angulation, with just enough bone, neat tight feet, and put down to
perfection, and the icing on the cake - well, she simply was a dream to watch
when moving around the ring, wish she was mine! I wish her well for the future,
BPIB. 2 McKenna & Bardill's Breckamore Snowberry at Plaisance. Another quality
blue, whose colour just needs to clear, and then I'm sure that she too will
trouble the best with maturity, of lovely make and shape, very feminine, with
good body and quarters, head handled well with a most feminine expression,
another that was sound on the move. 3 Neill's Barley Twist Via Breckamore,
completed a trio of lovely bitches. She was just unlucky to meet the first two.
Her turn will come.
JB (3) 1 Norman's Ryecombe Drama Queen. Beautiful and feminine
sable of lovely make and shape who was immaculately turned out, and who did
impress me a lot, she never put a foot wrong, possesses a most lovely head with
a most feminine and sweet expression coming from her most lovely dark eyes, neat
ears which she used all the time, lovely neck and shoulders, good body, and
quarters, ample bone neat feet, she moved soundly carrying a lovely topline,
stood and showed her heart out. I really wish her well for the future. 2 Lusty's
Blamorder Black Magic. Tricolour of different type to one, but still has a lot
to offer, well balanced, good front and well let down at rear, head handled
well, with neat ears and dark expressive eyes, moved soundly coming and going
covering the ground well. 3 Trundley's Juniperwood Kinda Special.
PGB (6) 1 Beeney's Kingrock Bathsheba At Coneypark. Quality sable of
lovely make and shape, just right for size, good lay of shoulder, reach of neck,
with plenty of heart room, good body, ample bone, she too possessed a lovely
head piece, with a most feminine expression, with her ears bang on top, another
who moved soundly. keeping her level topline. 2 Lusty's Juniperwood Just A
Dream. Tricolour, again of different type to one, but again with something to
offer, good make and shape, neck, with ample bone, neat feet, head is a shade
shorter than I prefer, but has a sweet expression, very attentive to her
handler, and moved soundly. 3 Trundley's Juniperwood Joyful.
LB (6) A lovely class of quality bitches. 1 Sewell's Foxearth Dressed
To Frill. What a find. She captivated me, from the moment she entered the ring,
so full of quality and with an attitude second to none! Tricolour who was
gleaming with her jet black coat, whites were white, and not a hair out of
place, so very feminine, no exaggerations, beautiful make and shape, with her
graceful swanlike neck, going into well laid shoulders, length of back, good
strong (but not overdone) quarters, well muscled, and just enough bone, and her
neat feet, her head was the cleanest, nicely filled foreface and a most lovely
dark well placed almond shaped eye, along with her neat well placed ears gave
her an expression to die for, movement was sound and a joy to watch, covering
the ground with such ease, in the challenge, she looked at me and defied me not
to give her the CC it was my pleasure to do so. I later learned that she was a
full litter sister to my dog CC, and that that was her second CC. I wish her
well for her third and crowning one, she certainly deserves her entry in to the
upper house. 2 Lister's Manordeifi Miss Daisy at Newarp. Another quality
tricolour. Who deserved her placing, good body, and angulations, well muscled,
head handled well with well moulded foreface, lovely eye placement, flat skull,
would just like her ears to be a shade tighter, yet again she could move all day
and was so sound, and was beautifully presented. 3 Robinson's Southcombe Summer
Special At Dawcher.
OB (9) Here was another class full of quality adult bitches, and I was
so sorry that some had to go cardless, competition was so strong! 1 Gay's
Manordeifi Saphire Mist At Yagane. One of my favourite bitches, whom the last
time I judged gave her the RCC. Today, I thought I could really go one better,
if she put it all in, she did. But was just unfortunate to come up against the
younger Dressed to Frill who today, was on top of her toes, her litter has
matured her, and her coat has cleared, and I thought she looked the part, never
lets her handler down, stands and shows a dream, she is of a lovely make and
shape, with a super reach of neck, head is well balanced with flattest of skull,
well filled foreface, nicely placed eyes and ears on top, giving of her all,
good quarters, ample bone, neat feet enabled her to really power around the
ring, I had no hesitation in giving her the RCC and I wished I had two big green
cards, I hope her crowning glory is not too far away, I wish her well. 2
Hutchings' Collidach Molloney Fay Mouse. Another quality blue, of different
type, and well deserving of her placing in this strong class, a most lovely
clear and well marked blue, presented in good clean condition, lovely head, with
her well shaped dark eyes and nicely set ears, giving a sweet expression, very
feminine, good body shape, front, and well let down at the back, her nicely
boned legs and neat feet enabled her to move with purpose and drive. 3 Mckenna &
Bardill's ChShulune Imperial Flower Of Plaisance.
VB (3) Two lovely bitches, a blue and a tricolour, both with something
different to offer, and belying their age! Both so typical of the breed, with
very little to choose between them, and both moved soundly covering the ground
well, the blue, a lovely clear colour, and the youngest of the two, the ten year
tricolour is a credit to her owner and looked marvellous. Both enjoying their
day out. 1 French's Lillymead Amazing Grace. 2 Robinson's Ch Hilltarn Valentine
JW.
GCB 1 Neff's Hightri Until. Blue, who was unplaced in open, but was of
lovely make and shape, and a lovely mover, would just prefer a clearer blue.
