 I must thank the Club for inviting me to judge Smooth Collies. This was my first time giving tickets and to my stewards for keeping me on my toes. A very mixed type, especially in the younger classes. Most of the Collies were on the moult, I know the feeling of hair everywhere. Most were clean except one or two could have done with a bath. I was especially thrilled to see my BOB take RBIS and BP take RBPIS under Mrs Eileen Spedding. Very well done. VD. (1). 1. Evans's, Ch. Smart Guy at Southcome. S/w dog of 9 years. Very well put together. Very good topline. Nice head planes, good reach of neck and nice angulation. Very much a Champion, neat feet. PD (3) 1 Kennedy's Ryecombe Debn'air. A precocious little sable man of 8 months, very full of himself. Balanced head with a nice front, tail high but he was enjoying himself, which bodes well for the future. Tight feet. Moved as puppies do. Best Puppy and Res BPIS. 2 Gidding's Ryecombe Discovered Gold. Another s/w with a good head. Moved steadily, not quite the quality of the winner. Good feet. 3 Cook's Ryecombe Duncan Disorderly at Kimbru. Good feet. JD (3) 1 Evans' Neytiri Tsu-tay Warrior. Smart tri of substance. Well put together. Moved around the ring in style, good front and rear and a level topline. Ears could be a little higher to complete the picture. Tight feet. 2 Leach's Manordeifi Dionysus at Hilltarn. B dog, not the topline of the winner and front could be more angulated. Nicely marked. Moved soundly, lipline could be tighter. Neat feet. 3 Foreman's Cownbred Heartbreaker. PGD (3) 1 Woodstock's Shulune Imperial Guard at Hylaird. Well built s/w, good lipline and flat skull. Good, well muscled thigh which gave powerful movement. 2 Howes' Dawcher Dawns Sunrise. S/W. Rather tall dog, could do with a bit more substance. Moved well. 3 Purvy's Freejack Midnight Dazzler. LD (4) 1 Evans' Southcombe Starman. Res CC. Very nice blue merle, well stacked with a good front and powerful movement. Good head planes, gentle expression. A firm topline, rear well muscled. A very nice dog. 2 Purvy's Norfield Silver Night for Freejack. Another nice blue merle, a bit shy but has it all. Nice make and shape, unfortunate to meet the winner. 3 Moore's Manordeifi Shadow Chaser. OD (4,1) 1 Forbe's Ch Int Ir Ch Pelghart Paint It Black at Willowhurst. CC. Tri and a favourite of mine and I must admit he is so masculine, without being coarse. Still has terrific ring presence, a beautiful dog. Good feet. 2 French's Foxearth Frappuccino. Tri dog, quite a nice dog. Pleasant expression, good ear carriage. Moved around the ring too fast. 3 Moore's Manordeifi Storm Breaker. PB (5,1) 1 Forbes' Willowhurst Vienna. Beautiful tri bitch, standing is very elegant. Movement spot on, good front angles and well stacked. Backend is good. 2 Robinson's Southcombe Summer Special at Dawcher. S/W, pretty bitch who moved very well. Nice head, good tail carriage and neat feet. 3 Norman's Ryecombe Drama Queen. JB (7) 1 Baker's Manordeifi Dolly Daydream at Tomalca. Very pretty tri, moved well. Nice front and well muscled thighs. Neat feet. Good head and expression. 2 Trundley's Juniperwood Jubilation. Tri bitch of good make and shape. Pretty head and she moved well. 3 Evans' Neytiri Eye of Aywa. PGB (5,1) 1 Foreman's Cownbred Frosted Rose. Powerful b/merle. Loved her conformation, so elegant. Wish head and expression had been softer. Res CC. 2 Sewell's Foxearth Dressed to Frill. Tri bitch, rather sweet. Well put together, sound rear and she moved well. 3 Campbell's Glencorrie Dusky Diva. LB (6,2) 1 Benton's Alopex Marionette of Oakestelle. Sweet blue bitch whose movement cannot be denied. Elegant all over, just wish there was more of her to enjoy. 2 Purvy's Freejack A Touch of Magic. Another blue, very pretty with a good front. Nice body and good feet, another sound mover. 3 Burgess' Lilymead Appanachi. OB (6,1) 1 Tikkanew Int Ch Shulune Imperial Mystique. Strong and powerful s/w, good head planes. Good reach of neck, good front and back end, standing proud, moved fast. CC, BOB and Res BIS. 2 Gay's Manordeifi Sapphire Mist at Yagane. Blue bitch of quality, still moves well. Nice headpiece, good topline and devoted to her handler. 3 Tikkanen's By Ch Timonan Xynet Xylona
