Championship show held at Tomlinson's Canine Centre, Markfield, Leics, with a good quality entry. The LB class was the treat of the day, with 13 entries, this is also where my CC and Res CC winners came from. BOB was a tri bitch, All That Jazz at Ryecombe, DCC and Res BOB Ch Manordeifi Smart Guy at Southcombe; BP went to a sable/w puppy dog, McClelland Hot Shot to Rushforth and Best Veteran to Ch Manordeifi Smart Guy at Southcombe. Many were in full moult, so not looking their very best. Some were shown a bit plump and in soft condition. The bitches were more even in type and quality than the dogs. MPD (2) 1 and Best Puppy, Ruston and Growcott's McClelland Hot Shot to Rushforth. Sable and white of just 6 months. Happy and co-oprative in every way and a delightful character. Shapely and well proportioned, used his ears when required. Good length of head and well arched neck. Clean coat, moved well behind, needs to settle in front movement. An enthusiastic showman and well handled. 2 Foreman's Cownbred Heartbreaker. 6 month old tri, well grown puppy but he was rather overwhelmed by it all on the day. Kind eyes, masculine head and a good body and bone. Moved ok - needs to learn to relax in the ring.  PD (2) 1 Williams' McClelland Hotter Than Hell. Tri litter brother to MPD winner. Needs to grow on a bit. Pleasing head and excellent overall proportions. Well muscled quarters. Showed well in spasms, well handled. Movement as yet not fully co-ordinated but that will come with age and wisdom! 2 Hall's Juniperwood Jovial. 10 months sable/w carrying a bit of puppy fat. Ear carriage a little heavy and failed in expression. Good body, clean coat and well handled. Front movement needs to settle. JD (1) 1 Howe's Dawcher Dawns Sunrise. 16 months sable/w, no mistaking him for anything but a male. Up to size, masculine head, keen and alert and interested in everything around him. Excellent temperament. Well sprung ribs, firm body and well conditioned, good coat. Moved well behind, a consistent showman, tail carriage rather gay on the move. PGD (5,2 ) Not an easy class. 1 Page's Norfield Oh What A Knight. 3 year old sable/w, lean and fit and a good length of head with dark eyes. Good coat, shapely body. Light on his feet when moving. 2 Trundley's Juniperwood King of Kings. 4 year old tri who refused to use his ears, and looked a bit depressed on the day. Steady temperament but showmanship lacked any animation. Good topline, bone and body. Moved ok. 3 Russell's Foxearth Fasion Guru. LD (5,1) 1 and Res CC, Williams' Foxearth Forward. Thinking for McClelland. 2 years sable/w, clean silhouette and well handled to look his best. Attractive head, keen and alert expression. Very good neckline, well presented coat and he held his topline on the move. A composed showman, very fit. I liked this young man very much, just needs a little more time to fill out and look the man of the house. I was interested to see  that he was the sire of my Best Puppy, plus two more littermates. 2 Hutchings' Collidach Molloney Ta Tu You. 2 years tri. Kind and intelligent eyes and a steady showman who made the most of himself standing. Well sprung ribs. Front movement could be a bit firmer. 3 French's Devern First Prime. OD (5,3) 1 CC, Best Veteran and Res BIS, Evans' Ch Manordeifi Smart Guy at Southcombe. 9 year old sable/w with a quality head and kind dark eyes of correct shape, used his ears well. Firm body, good bone and well sprung ribs, held his topline when moving and an easy mover with a good stride. Well angulated quarters, a focused showman and he did everything right and fully deserved the big green card! 2 Norman and Ratcliffe's Easy Listening at Seanva. 2 and a half years sable/w. Clean neckline and a typical head, but carrying too much weight which affected his movement adversely on the day. Excellent coat, very clean and well presented. Looking rather slack in topline standing. In harder condition would look a different dog. Vet D (4,1) 1 Evans' Ch Rowvale Storm Rising at Southcombe. 11 year old tri, a little slack in feet but got his act together better than the other old boys in this class! Never took his eyes off his handler and needed no persuasion to use his ears. Good body, not in his best jacket on the day. Still a reasonable mover. 2 Griffiths' Alopex Going Equipped. 10 year old b/m, quality dog but not at all interested in putting on a performance on the day. Good head and eyes, well carried ears. Excellent coat and condition, well proportioned. Lazy on the move, no animation. 3 Fulwood's Darsign Minstrel Blue. MPB (5,1) 1 and BPB, French's Cownbred Heart's Desire. 6 month tri, very nice puppy indeed but could be better  handled to enhance her many attributes. Pleasing head, alert and attentive. Well presented coat and good condition. Moved well for such a baby and a natural showgirl when she concentrated. Good potential. 2 Bott's Kingrock Bethany for Bardonhill. 7 months with a feminine head, carried her ears rather wide on the day. Good body and outl-++++++++++++++++++++-+ine, not really concentrating when moving but sympathetically handled. Well conditioned. 3 Beeney's Kingrock Bathsheba at Coneypark. PB (5,1) 1 Lusty's Juniperwood Just A Dream. 10 month old tri bitch, exuberant personality and took a bit of time to settle. Feminine head and appealing eyes, used her rears when asked. Good coat and body, in excellent condition and moved quite well once she found her rhythm. 2 Trundley's Juniperwood Joyful. Litter sister to the winner and also a bit unsettled at first. Good ribcage and depth of body, well handled. Firm topline, a bit extravagant in front movement. 3 Bott's Kingrock Bethany for Bardonhill. JB (1) 1 Foreman's Cownbred Frosted Rose. B/m coming up to 18 months and light on her feet. Good coat, attractive head and kind eyes giving an intelligent expression. Clean silhouette, well bodied and an easy mover. NB (2) 1 Baker's Manordeifi Satin N Lace at Tomalca. 2 year old tri, gorgeous head and eyes full of expression. Just right for condition, excellent coat and a steady showgirl who moved ok. 2 Fulwood's Westbridge Colour Me Silver at Darsign. 23 months b/m with a good coat. Pleasing head and expression, happy showgirl. Well muscled quarters, not as co-ordinated on the move as the winner. PGB (5,3) 1 Russell's Manordeifi Satin Doll. 2 tear old tri, calm and relaxed showgirl with an attractive head and clean and well presented coat. Easy mover, responded well to her handler. Charming personality and excellent body and depth. Handled to advantage. 2 Moore's Manordeifi Silver Sparkle. 2 year old b/m, living the good life. Feminine head and a clean neckline. Good coat and she showed well. Carrying too much weight which spoilt her movement. Litter sister to the winner. LD (13,2) A marvellous class where I really had to work hard to find my final line up. 1 CC and BOB, Giddings' All That Jazz at Ryecombe.  2 year old tri and the star of the day for me. Beautifully balanced young bitch in top form, lovely head and expression and almond shaped eyes set obliquely, well carried ears. Good neck and shoulders, excellent body and quarters. Sound mover and at one with her handler, never stopped showing. Good legs and feet, well fitting coat and she is fit and well muscled. Should not take long to get her title. 2 and Res CC, Neff's Hightri Until. 4 year b/m that I liked very much. Well proportioned and very fit, firm body and topline. Moved well but them she decided to pace. Good head and eyes, lovely coat. Excellent bone and feet, showed well. Very good type, just had a mind of her own on the day. 3 Forbes' Pelghart Power of Love from Willowhurst. OB (7,2) 1 Hayward's Ch Int Ch Sandcastle's All Dressed Up (Imp Fin). 6 year old tri, this handler got everything out of her charges. Attractive head and intelligent expression. Moved with a purpose and was well muscled. Well fitting coat, good outline and proportions. A steady showgirl. just did not look as fresh and keen as the LB winner when challenging for the CC, but won this class comfortably. 2 Hayward's Foxearth French Eclipse. 7 years tri with dark intelligent eyes, for me could be a bit more feminine. Lovely coat and one of the few not shedding. Moved ok, just looked a bit solid. 3 Griffith's Alopex Out of the Blue. Vet B (4,2) 1 Hutchings' Ch Foxearth Fluorescence at Molloney Sh CM. 8 and a half years, feminine b/m, eyes not her best feature. Good coat and in excellent condition. Moved and showed as if she was really enjoying being in the ring. Clean outline and well handled. 2 Sewell's Ch Foxearth Farris Via Lewarne. Also 8 and a half years, tri girl and up to size. On the day could not get her front assembly into proper co-ordnation on the move. Keen expression and showed very well  standing, with a good body and coat. Sympathetically handled. Brace (5,3) 1 Fulwood's father and daughter b/m brace.Went quite well together, pleasing heads and excellent coats. 2 Hutchings' b/m vet mum and daughter. Slightly different colour but daughter had more typical eyes. Good steady characters.
