As I think that this is possibly my last appointment, I thank the exhibitors for an entry of very nice dogs. I have not been beside the Smooth ring (except when judging) for over two years. I have always liked the Sandcastle dogs since I saw them years ago in Europe. However, my favourite of them were the sables. BOB, Haywood’s Ch Sandcastle’s True Topic. Res BD, Haywood’s Foxearth Felix Cited. BB, Moore’s Manordeifi Silvadore. Res BB, Hartley’s Foxearth Silver Dream At Jimjack. BP, Moore’s Manordeifi Shadow Chaser.

PD
(2) 1 Moore’s Manordeifi Shadow Chaser. Nice type tricolour boy, head very pleasing as was his body shape, however, maybe because of the ground, his movement was erratic. Would like to see him on a flat surface. 2 Hutchings’ Collidach Molloney Ta Tu You. Half brother to the winner (both sired by my BOB), two months younger and smaller in size but well put together, his movement was better than the first, tri coat of good texture but needs to grow on in head.

JD (2) 1 Hayward’s Foxearth Felix Cited. Sable boy, only just out of puppy, a great deal to like about this boy from his coat texture to his colour, head was in to size proportions, eye shape and colour just right for his age and had a good tail set and length. 2 Moore’s Manordeifi Starr Chaser.

PGD
(2) 1 Evens’ Southcombe Starman. Blue merle, would like a better fitting coat but the texture was there, well set tail of good length plus his head was well proportioned with eye shape and colour in keeping with the rest. 2 Page’s Northfield Oh What A Knight. Sable dog, not outstanding but should grow on in most ways, ear and tail set are there as a foundation but as he is coming up to two years old this may not happen.

OD
1 Haywood’s Ch Sandcastle True Topic. This boy you could base Smooths on at the moment. Fine outstanding tri boy by one of the top dogs in Europe. Sire of most of my winners today, so hopefully, as he is only young at the moment he will go on if used on the right girls (of any colour) the breed may go back to what it was years ago. 2 Purvey’s Freejack Royal Knight. Blue dog with no outstanding faults, larger and heavier than my winner, tail could be longer and due to a longer back he appeared to be crabbing in movement.

PB
(4, 2) 1 Baker’s Manordeifi Satin N Lace. Sister to my best puppy tri girl. Most of the dogs remarks stand on this girl, except her movement was better in the class, good head shape and one I will follow with interest. 2 Hutchings’ Collidach Molloney Fay Mouse. Another pair of litter mates by the BOB, her movement was loose but could be forgiven due to age, her head was to die for, just hope she goes on improving and clearing in colour.

JB (2) 1 Manordeifi Satin N Lace. 2 Collidach Molloney Fay Mouse.

PGB(1) 1 Purvey’s Freejack Touch Of Magic. Smaller blue girl than the others, colour good in places, just wish it was lighter, tail gave the illusion of being short but with hands on it is not.

OB(2) 1 Moore’s Manordeifi Silvadore. I have been reading a lot about this girl and on seeing her I can see why she has done as well as she has, she is larger than most of the girls entered, a blue, but darker than I am used to, longer in back to the second with a better tailset, head was all in proportion with her size, eyes a good shape and placement just right. 2 Hartley’s Foxearth Silver Dream At Jimjack. Another blue girl, again a bit darker than I am used to, but could not fault any one on this point, her owner will have to learn this girl’s pace to get the best out of her.
