Thank you to the committee for inviting me to judge at this lovely show and to the exhibitors for a super entry. I really enjoyed my day. I thought the overall quality was good with several quality Smooths that could reach the top with maturity. We still need to watch front and rear angulation. Happily there are some nice Smooths with good angulation, which can improve the breed. Heads are another concern with so many different types. The venue was really nice with good sized covered rings – needed in the lovely sunshine.

PD (3) 1. Hutchings', Collidach Molloney Ta Tu You. Quality tricolour with good clean wedge head of correct length, well placed stop and eye. Well angulated front and rear, good length of back and tail, moved well, covering the ground with ease. RCC and Best Puppy. 2. Williams', Foxearth Forward Thinking for McClelland. Nice clean wedge head of good length, just needs to fill in stop. Good length of back and bone, but not as well angulated as 1st. 3. Woodstock', Shulune Imperial Guard at Hylaird

JD (1) 1. Hayward, Foxearth Felix Cited. Good coloured smart sable with nice head of correct length. Good length of back and bone, well angulated enabling him to move well. Happy character who stood and showed well. PGD (1) 1. Woodstock', Shulune Imperial Warrior at Hylaird. Nice head, just needs to fill in stop, well made body and good bone, but would not behave on the move. Stood and showed well

. LD (2) 1. McKenna and Bardill, Macgee's Street Spirit at Plaisance. Quality tri with clean wedge head of correct type, nice eye and expression. Well angulated front, good length of back. Moved well, pushed hard in the challenge but just preferred the rear of the puppy. 2. Trundley', Juniperwood King Of Kings. Another really nice tri, excels in head and body, well angulated with good bone, but carrying a little too much weight today.

OD (2) 1. Hayward, Ch Sandcastle's True Topic. Quality dog of correct type. Loved his head, clean wedge of good length, nice eye and well placed ears giving correct expression. Good length of back, well angulated front and rear, excels in bone. Moved really well with length of stride. A happy character and good showman. Was pleased to award him the CC and BOB and to see him win BIS, well done! 2. Griffiths, Alopex Matt Finnish. Another nice tri with good length of head, flat skull. Well angulated front and good length of body. Not happy here today, reluctant to show and lacked drive on the move.

PB (3) 1. Hutchings', Collidach Molloney Fay Mouse. Litter sister to BP winner with nice head, but not quite as finished as her brother. Good length of body and bone, well angulated front and rear. Moved really well. 2. Norman and Ratcliffe', Foxearth Fashioned In Black. Another nice puppy with good length of head, just needs to fill in stop. Nice body, with good length of back, preferred better angulation and movement of 1st. 3. Woodstock, Shulune Imperial Summer Sky at Hylaird

JB (5) 1. Griffiths, Alopex Little Summer. What a sweetie this sable is, lovely character. Good head with flat skull, nice eye and well placed ears giving sweet expression. Well angulated front and rear with good body and bone. Moved, stood and showed well to win the CC. 2. Fort', Shulune Imperial Legacy. Another nice sable with clean wedge head of correct length, just needs to fill in stop. Not the angulation of 1st, Moved OK. 3. Forbes', Pelghart Power Of Love from Willowhurst

PGB (3,1) 1. Giddings, All That Jazz at Ryecombe. Lovely tri with good length of head, nice eyes and well placed ears. Good length of back and bone, well angulated, moved really well. Full of character, stood and showed well. RCC 2. Trundley', Juniperwood Final Affair. Another nice tri, good head of correct length, but sore eyes spoilt expression. Well made body with good angulation, just needs to lose some weight.

LB (3,1) 1. Williams, Shulune Imperial Moonlite at McClelland. S/w of nice type. Clean wedge head, lacking in stop. Good ears, length of body, prefer more angulation front and rear. 2. Trundley, Lilymead Alicia. Blue merle with sore eyes, which spoilt expression. Flat skull, good body shape, but too heavy spoiling movement.

OB (5) 1. Robinson', Ch Dawcher Dream Searcher. Good honest collie with clean wedge head, would prefer a sweeter eye, good ears used to advantage. Well made body with correct angulation. Moved very well to win a good class. 2. Griffiths, Alopex Out Of The Blue. Pretty blue merle with good head of correct length, flat skull, well made body with good angulation, just wished she would put a bit more effort in on the move. 3. Hill', Devern Fate A Compli

VB (6,3) 1. Robinson, Ch Southcombe Sweet As A Nut. 9 year old sand who has done well under me before. Clean wedge head, good ears, excellent conformation and movement. Sadly in the challenge she would not co-operate with her handler. Best Veteran. 2. Hill', Ch Devern Blue Silhouette. 9 year old blue merle with good head and eye, stronger in skull than 1st. Well made body and bone with good angulation, moved really well. 3. Taylor, Snuggletooth Fillys Fancy Among Traggeeda Best Breeder In Breed I was really pleased to have 2 teams to judge for this award. Both teams included dogs who had done well in the classes and therefore the type I considered breed type. I gave the award to the Foxearth team as they just had the edge on the move, going so well together.
