Thank you for the lovely entry. When the use of Rough blood was barred by the Kennel Club, I worried that we may lose the quality heads in our Smoothies. Thankfully, on this showing anyway, the improvement in back skulls was very pleasing, as were expressions on the whole. On this occasion I felt that the in depth quality of the dogs greater than the bitches, However, having said that, my favourite class has to be the puppy bitch with 3 gorgeous puppies who all have great potential. The open bitch class was very hard to judge owing to such a diversity in type. VD (1) 1 Rowvale Storm Rising at Southcombe 9and a half year old tri-colour. Very typy and showy. Has the correct length of head with good stop and neat ears. Would like more neck and tail length. Hind angulation satisfactory and movement was ok. PD (3) 1 Easy Listening at Seanna Most attractive sable and white. Upstanding and responsive. Well proportioned with graceful, flowing lines, Pleasing head with melting expression, and well placed ears, correct angulation, just needs to tighten up in front movement. A deserving RCC. 2 Pelghart Proudly Presents to Willowhurst 8 month old blue merle. A well-constructed dog with a neat head and an honest, masculine outlook. I hope his ear carriage improves, and I would prefer more bend of stifle. 3 Dawcher Dawns Spirit. JD (1) 1 Dawcher Dawns Spirit 10 month old tri dog with a quality head and nice, dark eyes giving the required expression. Has a good length of back. Coat colour needs to clear, and he would not make the most of himself in stance. Movement needs to tighten up. GD (1) 1 Freejack Midnight Dazzler. My notes state "What a lovely mover!". This 20month old tri appealed for his pleasing head type with correct eyes and ears. Well constructed with good length of back and neck and rear angulation. If his temperament improves he could well have a good future. LD  (4,1) 1 Foxearth Following On. A 2 year old tri of pleasing quality. Nicely constructed with correct proportions he moved really well. Head properties pleased, having correct stop, flat skull and dark eyes. His coat was of good colour and texture. 2 Freejack Royal Knight A blue merle with a really masculine outlook. I liked his length of head with well placed ears. His coat was of good texture, but rather dark in colour. Rear angulation was okay just a little happy with his tail! 3 Alopex Skymaster Blue. OD (3,1) 1 Ch Sandcastles True Topic. Having enjoyed a day in Finland with the Smoothies, many years ago. I was struck by the quality of the dogs which was awesome, and is retained in my memory forever. This is the second Finnish bred dog to which it has been my great pleasure to award the CC and BOB. Then see him awarded BIS over a good Rough entry was the icing on the cake. This 4 and half year old tri is quality throughout, with his well balanced head, correctly placed ears and sweet eyes. His graceful, flowing lines gave him the elegance and pleasing shape I was looking for. Shown in lovely order and moved accordingly. 2 Ch. Ir. Ch and Int. Ch. Pelghart Paint It Black at Willowhurst. 4 year old tri colour, bigger all round than the winner. Well constructed throughout his head properties appealed, with good ears, although expression not as sweet as1 and his coat not in the best of condition.  Movement was okay. VB (4) 1 Ch Foxearth Fondant. A delightful 8 year old sable who showed non stop and was in excellent condition. Has the most appealing head and expression. Presented a well balanced outline with graceful flowing lines, her construction enabling her to move well as a collie should. RCC 2 Ch Southcombe Sweet as a Nut. 8 years old and of similar type to the winner, but not quite the sweetness. Well angulated with correct back length and a neat head. Moved okay. 3 Devern Dark Mistress PB (4,1) What a lovely class of babies, any of which could change places on other occasions 1 All That Jazz at Rycombe. 11month old tri, superbly constructed with correct bend of stifle. She has a very pleasing head with good ears and sweet, dark eyes her coat is a deep black of correct texture and she was very happy to show off her many charms. 2 Alopex Blue Moon. 9 month old blue merle. This is a very pretty bitch of lovely colour. Her head is nicely balanced with the sweetest of eyes, although ears need to settle. She is very well constructed enabling her to move with drive and style. I loved her temperament. 3 Alopex Marionette of Oakestelle. JB (2,1) 1 Devern by Design. 16 month old shaded sable. Not making the most of herself, but when she did use her ears she had a kind expression. Back length in ratio to her height is correct, but I would like more reach of neck. Shown in good condition. GB (2,2) 1 Freejack A Touch of Magic. 3 year old blue merle who excelled in movement. On the small side and rather dark in colour, she nevertheless appealed with her clean head and sweet eyes. In good condition being well muscled but was a little reluctant to show off her charms. LB (5,2) 1 Dawcher Decorum at Southcombe. A 4 year old tri colour whose colour I would like to be much darker. Very feminine with a lovely head and expression from dark eyes. I liked her all over balance and her correct angulation enabled her to move well.Good showlady. 2 Foxearth Gold Filigree A very pleasing sable with a sweet head of correct length, although I felt backskull was a little strong. In great condition and, although lacking in showmanship she moved well. 3 Starlight Spirit at Pencloda OB (6,1) 1 Alopex out of the Blue. A 4 year old blue merle of a most lovely colour and shown in sparkling condition. She has the correct head with nicely placed eyes and good, well used ears. Her correct length of neck was used to her advantage, flowing into well balanced bodylines.Although I would prefer a little more substance her elegance and demeanor could not be denied. She pleased me enough to award her the CC. On this form she should gain her title easily. 2 Devern Fate A Compli. This 5 year old tri is one I have judged before. She still has the lovely head pattern, and dark well placed eyes. Her outline appealed and she used her neck well. Her coat is of good colour and her movement left nothing to be desired. 3 Ch Dawcher Dream Searcher. BREEDER'S COMPETITION  1. Alopex stood alone. All showed a depth of type and quality with exceptionally good colour and markings. The bitches were all truly feminine and the dog was masculine in outlook. Congratulations to the breeder on the establishment of a lovely type
