A numerically good entry. Heads varied in type, all my winners had a correct Collie head & they all had good conformation with extension & drive on the move. Presentation was good apart from many needing their nails cut. The line-up of males was amazingly all tris. I felt the males were, on the whole, better quality than the bitches.

PD (5,3a) 1 West’s Alopex Oysterman, 10 months tri, all male with good conformation, clean wedge head, nice dark eyes of correct shape, moved well, one to watch with maturity. BPD; 2 Williams’ Foxearth Forward Thinking, sable/w, not the conformation & movement of 1. Correct shape, dark eye, full skull. JD (4,1) 1 McKenna & Bardill’s Macgees Street Spirit of Plaisance, jet black shiny coat, super dark eye & expression, clean wedge head with moulded foreface, flat skull & correct stop, good shoulder angles, arched neck, balanced length of back to height, slight rise over loin, good turn of stifle, short hocks, lovely long tail, moved with drive & extension. RCC; 2 Page’s Norfield Oh What A Knight, s/w, stronger head than 1, dark eyes on the small side, upright shoulder, good hindquarters, long back. Movement not the extension of 1; 3 Foreman’s Dawcher Dawn’s Spirit. PGD (2) 1 Trundley’s Juniperwood King Of Kings, tri, won the class on his super movement, bone & conformation, really clean wedge head, moulded foreface, correct stop, eye & flat skull. Just not using his ears, on the heavy side; 2 Evans’ Southcombe Starman, b/m, well up to size, stronger head than 1. Eye on light side, not the conformation of 1. Stood & showed well. LD (5,1) 1 Gadd’s Chicnoir Ice Breaker, 6 years tri I judged as a puppy, loved him then & still do, jet black coat, lovely clean head with no coarseness, moulded foreface, correct stop, dark eye, really good conformation & movement; 2 Purvey’s Freejack Royal Knight, b/m, not the quality of head of 1. Upright in front, good hindquarters. Movement erratic; 3 Fulwood’s Darsign Minstrel Blue. OD (4,1) 1 Asikainen & Lahtinen’s Ch Sandcastle’s True Topic, 5 years tri, jet black coat in super condition, clean wedge head, moulded foreface, flat skull, slight stop, correct shape eye, uses ears well, good shoulder angles, arched neck, level back, rise over loin, good turn of stifle, short well let down hocks, excels in movement, super extension & drive, keeping level topline. CC & BOB; 2 Gadd’s Chicnoir Best Mate, 7 years, favourite of mine, s/w. Not in the condition of 1. Good conformation, moved OK; 3 Fulwood’s Darsign Minstrel Blue.

PB (6,1) 1 Norman’s Foxearth Fashioned In Black, what a little sweetie, just 6 months, black coat gleaming, very feminine, super head with correct shape, black eyes, uses her ears really well, good conformation, moved well, stood & showed to win BP; 2 Howarth’s Pelghart Proud Mary, 8 month b/m, good conformation resulting in good movement. Not the head qualities of 1. Full skull, moulded foreface; 3 Forbes & Clements’ Pelghart Power Of Love from Willowhurst. JB (3,2) 1 Hayward’s Foxearth Sticky Fingers, sable/w 6 month old pretty baby with clean wedge head, moulded foreface, flat skull, dark correct shaped eye, good conformation & bone, moved OK. Needs to settle down. PGB (8,1) 1 McKenna & Bardill’s Shulune Imperial Flower of Plaisance, sable/w in super condition, feminine with clean wedge head, moulded foreface, correct stop & flat skull, correct shaped eye, good shoulder angles, arch neck, level back, rise over loin, good turn of stifle, short well let down hocks, good depth of chest, moved really well with drive & extension, keeping level topline, stood & showed well to win CC; 2 Neff’s Hightri Until, b/m with really clean wedge head of good length, good conformation, moved well, stood & showed with ears right on top, nice bitch. Needs time to mature; 3 Trundley’s Juniperwood Final Affair. LB (6,2) 1 Burgess’ Lilymead Appanachi, tri, good honest collie who has to be handled to be appreciated, really clean wedge head, slight stop, dark correct eye, good conformation & moves well, stood & showed to win RCC; 2 Lusty’s Juniperwood Dream Maker, tri, very feminine, super conformation & bone, moves well. Needs to settle down; 3 Giddings’ Foxearth Gold Filigree. OB (5,1) 1 Griffiths’ Alopex Out Of The Blue, b/m, good colour, best head in the class, clean wedge, moulded foreface, flat skull, moved really well to win the class. Needs to mature, out of coat; 2 Hyde’s Ch Foxearth Fondant, sable/w with good coat, clean wedge head. Lacking in stop. Good backend conformation, upright in front. Let down by her movement; 3 Hutchings’ Ch Foxearth Fluorescence at Molloney.
