Dogs: V (4) 1. Croman’s Hilltarn Steel River of Cromarty. B/M of 8 years, lovely make, good colour, jacket rather open but taken alongside his many virtues I considered this a minor fault. Ex fore and aft, good legs and feet and well muscled adding up to really sound movement. Nice head with lovely expression, used ears well. Pleased to award him CC and B.V. 2 Gadd’s Astrellita Just William at Chicnoir. Lovely s/w really nice head and expression, good eye, ears, ex type. Slightly down over hind end, could use a tad more muscle tone. Well carried tail. 3 Norfield Tin Star. P (3) 1 Forbes’ Pelghart Paint It Black at Willowhurst good coloured tri almost 12 mths. Well made fore and aft, good legs and neat feet. Acceptable tail carriage, now needs to consolidate B.P. 2 Fort’s Shulune Lord Haldir, really lovely coloured s/w nice head and expression, used ears quite well. Conformation good, feet could be tighted and movement still needs time to firm up. 3 Chicnoir Follow On. J (5) 1 MacGregor’s Rowvale River Gambler 13 mths really lovely tri. Nice head, well placed correct stop, underjaw, good eye, ex ears which he used continuously. Ex. conformation front and rear, good bone, feet could be tighter. V. alert and showed non-stop, has a v. bright future Res. CC. 2 Lister’s Eridor I’m Mr Blu at Newarp (Imp. Aus.) 17 mth b/m of lovely colour. Nice head, stop needs to clear, firm topline, moved well but front needs to tighten. Good legs and feet and firm topline. Tail carriage rather high. 3 Winter & Unwin’s Sturtmoor Alexavier Odessy at Snowtrekka. PG (3, 1a) 1 Gadd’s Chicnoir Ice Breaker. Well coloured tri, good conformation, firm topline. Nice type head with dark eye if a little full. Ex.well used ears, neat feet and good tail carriage. 2 Tillier’s Southcombe Set A Flame for Cromarty. Young s/w needs to settle on the move. Nice head and eye, lovely head markings, needs a tad more underjaw. Good legs and feet but front now needs to tighten up. Carried tail well most of the time. Elegant youngster who needs time. L (5,1) 1 Purvey’s Freejack The Highlander Tri just 2 yrs. Good head and expression, nice eye, ex. ears. Good conformation, legs and feet, held his topline well. Front needs to tighten. Good tail carriage and lovely stance. What an ex showman, would just like him a little larger. 2 Hayward’s Foxearth Londer Lladro. Well coloured sable. Most beautiful head, correct stop, good eye and ears, an example for us all, good pigment. Conformation is excellent, good neck, level topline, good tail, legs and feet. When he is in control he will worry the very best. 3 Moores’ Manordeifi Solar Eclipse. O (4,2) 1 Norman & Ratcliffe’s Ch Foxearth Flash Past. Four and a half yr old s/w. v.good conformation, well ribbed, ex topline, nice legs and feet. Good head, level planes, nice eye and expression and very good, well used ears. I would like to see a little more fore-chest development for age. I have judged this lad before, but to-day he was v. unsettled both standing and on the move, and threw away his chances. 2 Gadd’s Chicnoir Quartermaster. Beautifully coloured s/w, loved his make and shape. Good head, gentle expression, well used ears, and ex. pigment. Good conformation, level topline, bit loose in front and would benefit from better muscle tone. Bitches: V (2) 1 Moores’ Ch Manordeifi Silver Serenade, nine year old, well up to size. Well made fore and aft with lovely slope of shoulder, nice legs and feet. Of good b/m colour with striking full white shawl collar. Good head, level planes, used ears quite well. Front movement a little erratic, partly due to her outgoing temperament. Nice type and not giving an iota away to age. 2 French’s Frendet Fantasia. Nine year old tri stood and showed well, nice quarters, good legs and feet, slightly narrow in front. Went well and enjoyed her day out. P (2,1) 1 Fort’s Shulune Lady of Lorien, S/w of 11 mths. In ex. condition. Good angulation front and rear, nice bone and neat feet. Front movement needs to tighten. Good head with ex pigment. V. nice picture but rather proud of her tail. J (2) 1 Robinson’s Dawcher Dream Searcher 15 mths tri in ex coat and condition, gleaming black with good tan and nice white shawl collar. Good head, well used ears. Lovely conformation plus well developed chest, good legs and feet, well ribbed, firm topline held well on move. V. nice picture moving and standing. 2 Giddings’ Foxearth Gold Filigree. Lovely s/w just out of Puppy. Nice head, good eye, lips need to be firmer, well pigmented. Good bone, feet, topline and tail. Needs a bit more experience to improve on her movement. PG (3,2) 1 Coates’ Starlight Spirit at Pencloda, lovely coloured b/m. Good front and rear, well developed chest. Firm topline held on move, good legs and neat feet. Nice head, would prefer darker eye and tighter ears, but good expression. Moved well, little happy with her tail. L (5,1) 1. Hutchings & Waite’s Foxearth Fluorescence at Mollony. Well marked b/m with nice white collar. Good head and ears, eye rather full. Good shoulder, front and rear angles, level topline. V. alert and showed quite well but would like her tail out from between her legs, to make a sweeter picture. 2 Sewell’s Foxearth Farris via Lewarne. Three and a half year old tri. Loved her make and shape. Well up to size. If only she would learn to keep her tail down on the move, there is little else to criticise in this elegant bitch. 3 Chicnoir Lil’s Little Love via Snuggletooth. O (4,1) 1 MacGregor’s Ch Southcombe Sophisticate at Rowvale. Well made tricolour of good colour with lovely markings. Correctly angulated fore and aft, good chest, legs and feet, firm topline held well on the move. Stood and moved well. Nice head, eye a tad full, ears right on top and used well, v. attentive. Handled well to take CC and B.O.B. 2 Robinson’s Hilltarn Valentine. Three and a half year tri. Love this one for her ex conformation and movement. Shows well with everything in the right place. Just no coat. In full bloom her title will come. 3 Hayward’s Foxearth Fire of Love at Lilymead.
