My thanks to exhibitors for such a good entry and to my 2 stewards for their help. I was impressed with the quality of many of those present. V. 1. Moore’s, Ch. Manordeifi Silver Serenade. Blue who is still a lovely colour, at 8 and a half still retains an excellent head type with a clean stop, good eye and expression. She has a good neck and body shape and still moves soundly. In lovely condition. 2. Leach’s, Hilltarn Dream Icon. Tri of 7 and a half years of quality. I liked her head and expression. Good neck and front. Again in lovely condition and still a sound mover both front and rear. Smooths certainly seem to carry their years lightly. PD. 1. MacGregor’s, Rowvale River Gambler. No gamble with this puppy tri who took my eye from the start. Very pleasing head, cleanest of stops, beautiful muzzle and chin with a well placed eye and his ears on top gave him the correct expression. Excells in neck and shape with good bone, legs and feet. His movement did not disappoint, must have a great future. BPD and BPIB. 2. Sewell’s, Foxearth Flintoff or Lewarne. Sable that was close up to my winner. Very attractive and showed like a veteran. Pleasing head type with a clean stop, correct in eye and expression. His neck and outline are first class and he moved so well both front and rear. Another who should have a good career in front of him. Just needs time to mature. 3. Wallis’s, Northfield White Knigh. JD. 1. Purvey’s, Freejack the Highlander. Tri of good type who appealed in head and expression. Nice body shape and sound on the move. Just needs time to mature and fill out in body. 2. Forbes’s, Pelghart Pied Piper at Willowhurst. Tri of good overall type. Pleasing head, neck and outline. Sound on the move. Just a little proud of his tail. PGD. 1. Walis’s, Norfield Soul Mate. Sable of quality, I loved his head eye and expression. Beautiful neck and body shape. Good bone, legs and feet. He was in excellent coat and condition and was extra sound on the move. With a little more time could I think gain his title. LD. 1. Griffiths’s, Alopex Highland Fling. Very attractive tri who has one foot on the ladder. At 3 is just coming to his best. Very pleasing head type, good eye and ears on top. He has a good neck and outline, he was in lovely coat and was in best of condition. He moved well both front and rear and I’m sure will carry his title soon. 2. Moores’, Manordeifi Solar Exclipse. Another tri male who appealed for his overall type, make and shape. Bigger than the winner but another who was sound on the move. OD. What a class it was a pleasure to judge them. I would have been pleased to sign a CC for any of the first three. 1. MacGregor’s, Ch. Moonwalker from Misstoff. CC, BOB and BIS. An outstanding tri Smooth have admired in the past but this was the first time that I have judged him. He did not disappoint me in any way. His head is classic with the cleanest of stops, beautiful muzzle and underjaw, pleasing eye, he uses his ears non stop, but he also scores very heavily in neck, shoulders and body shape. His movement both front and rear is an object lesson to all. His presentation and condition a credit to his owner. He was pushed so hard by the two behind him but every time I looked at him he was right. I was so pleased to see him awarded BIS later in the day. Still giving 100%. 2. Norman and Radcliff’s, Ch. Foxearth Flash Past. RCC. A stunning sable who excells in head, eye and expression. Another who showed his heart out. Excellent neck and the best of body shapes. Beautiful neck and backline and in top condition. His movement was a joy to watch. Such good bone, legs and feet (something that most of the Smooths had on the day). He pushed the winner all the way and I really could have happily signed a CC for him or indeed his kennel mate who was third. 3. Norman and Radcliff’s, Ch. Foxearth Blue Jeans Forever. I must comment on this young blue merle, he is out of the top drawer and was a real challenge to the winners. I could find nothing to dislike about him. He is an excellent colour and was so well presented and handled. He showed non stop and is a really beautiful young male. PB. 1. MacGregor’s, Rowvale Chasing Rainbows. Very attractive blue, litter sister to the Puppy dog and has many of the same qualities. She is feminine but has good bone. Her head and expression appeal and she is a lovely shape. Sound mover and is a good colour. How lucky to have two such nice puppies. 2. French’s, Lilymead Amazing Grace. Blue of very pleasing type. Lovely head and expression. Nice make and shape. Doesn’t need to carry any more weight or this could affect her sound movement. 3. Robinson’s, Dawcher Dream Searcher. JB. 1. Hill’s, Devern Fate a Compli. I was very taken with this tri. I liked her head, eye and expression. Beautiful neck and shape, the soundest of movers and in really good coat and condition with a little more maturity. I think she will go right to the top, was very much in contention at the end. 2. French’s, Lilymead Amazing Grace. 3. Purvey’s, Freejack Oh Mi Mi. PGB. 1. Evans’s, Southcombe She’s the One. Sable bitch who appealed for her type. Very pleasing head and expression. Good neck and body shape, the soundest of movers and in good coat and condition. This exhibotr always has nice sables. I remeber making her first Ch up some years ago. 2. Purveys’, Chicnoir Little Love Via Snuggletooth. This was without doubt the best coloured blue on the day. Such a lovely type. Very good head type, just failed a little in eye. Pleasing neck and body shape and sound on the move and in good condition. LB. 1. Moores’, Manordeifi Silver Dawn. Have always liked this bitch for type. She has a pleasing head with a good eye. Lovely body shape and such a sound mover. Doesn’t need to carry any more weight. Her colour is not her fortune. 2. Robinson’s, Hilltarn Valentine. Pretty blue of good colour. Pleasing type in head, neck and outline. Moved soundly front and rear. Just needs time to mature. OB. 1. Spedings’, Ch. Antoc Fascination. CC. Very attractive feminine tri bitch. She has a pleasing head well placed eye giving a good expression. She excells in neck, shoulder and outline and her movement is really outstanding, so sound both front and rear and her tail was carried correctly. She was in excellent coa and condition and was well presented and handled to advantage. 2. MacGregor’s, Ch. Southcome Sophisticate at Rowvale. RCC. Tri bitch of a beautiful type. Correct in head, pleasing eye and expression. She excells in neck and outline and was the soundest of movers both front and rear. In good coat and condition and was a worthy winner of the RCC. 3. Sewell’s, Ch. Foxearth Phoebe.
