PD (3) 1. Hindes – Chicnoir Best Mate, sable of good size but I would prefer more bone at this age but this may well come. Good textured coat of correct length. Good head and muzzle with well placed ears of good size. Both front and rear movement needs to tighten and he does need to muscle up especially in his hindquarters. His extrovert handler does try and move him too fast at times, which only accentuates his puppy movements. Lost out to a super bitch for BPIB on this aspect. 2. Clark’s Glencorrie Be Worthy of Astrellita, and I think he will be! A most elegant tricolour of good size with a well-proportioned outline. Well muscled for age, just needs time to mature but his has good bone at this stage. One amongst many who is just casting coat in these warm conditions. Nice clean head of good proportions, well placed and pleasing expression. Good neck and shoulders which showed in his front movement. 3.Davis – Sharidon Anything Goes at Keenacre, another young tri who has to get his act together when on the move as on the day seemed to be not at all settled but perhaps does not like the warm conditions.

JD (2) 1. Hindes – Chicnoir Snow Wolfe, merle who needs to grow on. Pleasing head with well placed ears that he used well. Not as positive on the move as I would prefer but once his handler had him settled moved out freely. I would prefer a closer textured coat.

G (1) 1. Hindes – Chicnoir Snow Leopard, another merle with a pleasing head and expression. Showed well. Well-rounded muzzle but tends to drop off over his nose. Good shoulders but will stand forward and this shows in his outline. Needs to muscle in his quarters.

PG (2) 1. Hindes – Foxearth Olivers Footprints to Chicnoir – well grown sable of good proportions. Good textured coat of lovely colour. Stands well but I would prefer more reach in neck and slightly better shoulder angulation. Ample bone. Good topline which he kept whilst on the move. 2. Richards – Manordeifi Stylemaster – Tri rather lacking in substance against 1) and although he has better pasterns and feet than the winner, I felt that on the day he appeared rather immature.

L (3) 1. Griffiths – Alopex Going Equipped. Merle of good size and substance for his age. Lovely well-broken colour, and coat of good texture. Pleasing head and eye well placed and well used ears. Although his head is slighter shorter than I prefer, it is well balanced with a flat skull and well moulded foreface. One of few with good angulated shoulders and reach of neck. Well bodied with good spring of rib and nice body. Moved out with the freedom one should associate with this breed. Took this class and well-deserved RCC on the day. 2. Hindes – Chicnoir Quartermaster. Sable, who when he entered the ring I thought would be my class winner. Good size. Well balanced head of good proportions, nice muzzle, although I would prefer a little more underjaw. Not in complete control of his ears today but they are well set. Moving in profile covers the ground easily but just lacks the fluency I was looking for when going away, also needs to strengthen in pasterns. 3. Kinsey – Foxearth Twist To Fate of Sturtmoor – another young sable just coming into his own. Nice head and eye, good bone but not as positive in rear movement on the day

O (4) 1. MacGregor – Ch Moonwalker from Misstoff – a dog I have admired since his puppy debut and I have watched his progress on many occasions and I would like to thank his owner for making my day. It was a pleasure to handle this tricolour whose coat is of correct texture and in the bright sunlight he gleamed and oozed quality. His head is balanced with a well-placed stop and nicely set eye. Clean from muzzle to cheeks with correct depth of head from skull to underjaw. Well placed shoulders and good depth of chest. Well bodied and has the required muscle in his hindquarters. Moved with drive and covered the ground with ease. Just stood and asked for the class and then went home with the CC and BOB (his 15th) 2. Tuck – Dark Motif from Mistoff – another tri and a brother to 1) and very similar in most respects. However today was a little too proud of his recent achievements and moved with slightly higher tail carriage that I prefer. 3.Kinsey – Foxearth Finlander of Sturtmoor – very striking merle of super colour but not a big boy but all in proportion. Well balanced head, good eye and expression. Moves with drive and carries his tail well.

BITCHES: P (5) 1. Moores – Manordeifi Silver Dawn, very promising 11month blue merle whose colour is clearing well and in time should emulate her elegant dam. Lovely clean head with a super expression. Nice moulded foreface with good eye placement and well used ears. Very attentive to her handler. Moved freely with drive and covered the ground easily. Good in outline. Pleased to award her another BPIB. 2. Sewell – Foxearth Fickle via Lewarne, such a promising sable baby, of 6 months, who was not quite mature enough to take on the winner on the day. Flat skull with a correctly placed stop, good eye and expression just needs to settle her ear carriage to complete the picture. Ample bone for age moved very well with confidence. Nice construction and rib, good length of back. One I would love to see in the future. 3. Burton – Glencorrie Begorgeous – tri who is not quite balanced in outline. Pleasing head. Just needs time to mature and fill out in most departments.

J (2) A difficult class with two different types. 1. Bullion – Foxearth Flame of Love at Ostarion – tri bitch carrying far too much weight, which makes her, appear totally unbalanced. Pleasing head of good proportions. I would prefer more neck and slightly more angulation in her shoulders. 2. French – Chicnoir Sabretta – smaller bitch who is much finer in bone than I prefer. She appeared very raw today against the heavier winner but she too has her qualities. Pleasing head and eye, nice body shape and moved quite well.

PG (2) 1. Macgregor – Southcombe Sophisticate at Rowvale – tri bitch of good size and substance, stood alone in this class but well deserved her placing. Good head when viewed in profile with good eye set and ears carriage. Good reach of neck. Well bodied with good bone and feet. Moved freely and kept her topline on the move.

L (5) 1. Wilson – Hilltarn Jaguar from Encinas. Quality blue merle nicely marked and well broken in colour. Coat is of good texture. Pleasing head of good proportions with a nice eye. Well placed shoulders with good spring of rib. I would prefer more depth of chest but moved very well especially in profile movement. 2. Gay – Hilltarn Kiri at Yagane –another blue bitch who is slightly bigger than 1) and she is not as well broken in colour. Very attentive to her handler and shows all the time. Her head is balanced but just lacks the femininity I was looking for. Good body shape but I would prefer more spring of rib. Moves out well and covers the ground easily. 3. Clark – Astrellita Bedazzled - another very nice bitch who has correct coat texture and moved out well. Another who appeared to be lacking her sparkle but she is well constructed with a nice outline, and very pleasing head and expression.

O (3) What a super class and with these three quality bitches, it was a pleasure to be a judge and although I placed as I saw on the day, and on a different day, there may different results. 1. Griffiths – Alopex Silverstone. Blue merle of lovely colour. Admired her profile both on the move and standing. Lovely reach of neck well placed shoulders with ample heart room and depth of chest. Correct bone and feet, she is balanced with a good length of back with well-muscled hindquarters. Moved out freely with correct tail carriage. Pleasing head in profile with a well placed stop and nice eye. Clean wedge to head. Quietly handled and responded well to show off her expression with correct ear carriage. Pleased to award her 2nd CC – and hope her title is not too far away. 2. Moores – Ch Manordeifi Silver Serenade. Well constructed blue that I have admired for some time and was not disappointed in her. She has a lovely head of good proportions and that elusive expression set off by the combination of correct eye and ear placement. Not quite her best performance today as she seemed to be feeling the heat and just lacked that extra sparkle I know she has. Moved positively but without the drive and exuberance. Good size and colour, lovely bone and outline. Dam of BPIB and a well deserved RCC. 3. Curtis – Ch Snuggletooth Flurry’s Filly. Tri bitch full of quality, she is slightly smaller than those above her but there is very little to dislike about her. She is all in proportion with a lovely balanced head with a flat skull and well placed eye. Good reach of neck and moved very well and certainly was not disgraced with her placing on the day.
