Over all I was pleased with the entry. As seems to be the norm bitches held more depth of quality than the dogs. If the exhibits in the puppy and junior classes progress as one would expect the breed should stand in good stead, its pleasing to see so many good youngsters.
PD (5) 1 Hindes Foxearth Olivers Footprint to Chicnoir. Sable with excellent length of head, eye shape and placement good ears that were well used, stop needs to clear, pleasing masculine expression. Good length of neck, well arched leading to correctly angulated front construction. Harsh coat. I would have preferred a little more length of back and for him to tighten on the move, all should come with age. 2 McKendricks Alopex Conversation Peace at Wesanya. Tri very well made, correct shape moved well. Nicely balanced head Good eye and ears but not the quality of 1st in this department or neck. Correct jacket. 3 Haywards Flurrys Fine Fellow at Foxearth.
JD (3) 1 Hindes Foxearth Olivers Footprint to Chicnoir 2 Mckendricks Alopex Conversation Peace At Wesanya 3 Rileys Manordeifi Star Chaser.
PGD (1) 1 Wallis Norfield Knight Star Tri with correct head pattern, eye a little round, ears were set low, therefore not giving a collie expression. Good front and rear angulation, strong top line that he held on the move. Moved well in profile, front and rear.
LD (4) 1 & RCC Chapmans Sharidon Touch of Frost. Quality Blue Merle. Good head that handled well, rounded muzzle, correct stop, eyes well placed, if a little round, correct ears that he used all the time giving pleasing expression. Well balance body, with all the correct angles and length, would like to see a little more covering. Correct tail set and length that he carried well on the move. Moves well in profile but could tighten going away. 2 Purveys Chicnior Midnight Magic at Freejack. Tri with a lovely shape and presented in good condition who moved really well. But his head and eye not the quality of 1. Good harsh jacket.
OD (2) 1 & CC Whittinghams Southcombe Stirling. Blue Merle with a good wedge shaped head that handled well, I would prefer it to be slightly longer but it is balanced with good stop, nice eye and excellent head marking that assist in giving lovely masculine expression. Good strong neck leading to correct front and rear set up, well sprung ribs, good top line, tail well set and carried. Presented in good condition. When going over him I expected him to move well and was not disappointed. Well deserved 2nd CC I hope the third follows. 2 McKendricks Wesanya Watchword. An 11 year old Tri who looked well for his age, nice head and eye, ears of correct shape but a little light. Good body shape, with spring of rib, top line weak. Correct jacket moved ok.
PB (5 ) 1 Hydes Foxearth Fondant. 7 month old quality sable with lovely tight jacket of correct texture and a real showgirl. Good wedge shaped head, stop needs to clear, eye of correct shape and colour, good ears well used all giving lovely expression. Good body shape with correct front and rear angulation. Moved well. I did consider her for higher honors but she seemed to tire and decided she had done enough in the challenge. She is only a baby and one for the future. 2 Curtis Snuggletooth Flurrys Filly. Tri colour who is 3 months older than one. Lovely overall picture, but would prefer a little more bone and size. Good head pattern, with nice eye, excellent reach of neck, good top line, tail short in length but carried ok on the move. 3 Sewells Foxearth Flicker of Hope.
JB (6) 1, RCC & BP) Hydes Foxearth Future Magic. Another 7-month-old sable I am sure whose name will prove prophetic, young lady of great quality. Good length of head that handled well even at her tender age, correct eye shape and placement, good ears that she pulled in to position to provide sweet feminine expression. Excellent length of neck leading to correct front structure. Well balanced outline with the right amount of bone. Jacket not as tight as I would prefer. With a change of handler in the challenge she just put everything together and said I am here look at me, I did and awarded her a well deserved RCC. 2 Mckendricks Hilltarn High Tide at Wesanya. Nice tri with good head pattern eye and ears. Correct construction, tail set and length. Moved ok. Jacket rather long around the collar. 3) Spedings Antoc Fantasy.
PGB (8) 1) Mckendricks Hilltarn High Tide at Wesanya. 2 Moores Manordeifi Lady Penelope. A pleasing bitch who made it hard work for her handler. Similar comments to one on head and body properties. Moved well, I just preferred the overall picture of one. 3 Chapmans Sharidon Silver Belle.
LB (5). 1 CC & BOB Theobalds Foxearth Phoebe. Lovely blue merle to whom I awarded best puppy last time I judged and on the day was pleased to award her top honors. Well balanced head that was good to handle, correct stop good eye and ears that she really used, the whole along with her head marking provide a beautiful feminine expression. Good neck connecting to correct body, strong top line that she held on the move. Moved well and at one with her handler at all times. 2 Wilsons Hilltarn Jaguar from Encinas. Another good blue merle with the correct properties in head and body. Not the expression or so well covered as one and occasionally did not hold her top line. 3 Gibsons Knipes Shades of Gold for Pelghart
OB (4) 1 Haywards
Cownbred Hot & Spicy. Sable with head of lovely length and pattern, nice eye and
ears that I have known pulled tighter. Good neck, body and tail set. Moved ok if
a little wide behind. Considered for top honors but on the day had to give way
to a lady on top form and her own daughter. 2 Listers Ch Newarp Jesena Moonlight
Sonata. 7 year old blue merle that has done the breed proud through her wins
since a youngster. On the day, although she is well balanced and has other
attributes, I preferred the longer head and body of one.
