It gave me great pleasure to judge a very good entry of Smooth Collies and I was so pleased with my top winners. My thanks to the exhibitors for such a pleasing entry.

MPD. 1. Kinsey’s, Foxearth to Twist Fate. Sable who moved so well. Has a good length of head that just needs to clear a little in stop. Pleasing expression and a good neck and shape. He has good bone, legs and feet. Just needs time to mature to continue to do well. 2. McKendrick’s, Apolex Conversation Peace at Wesanya. Tri again with a lovely outline. His movement was really so sound and has a good neck and front. Again just needs to clear a little in stop which I’m sure he will. Just preferred winner in expression. 3. Hindes’s, Chianoir Qaurtermaster.

PD. 1. Haywood’s, Flurry’s Fine Fellow at Foxearth. BPIB. Blue merle who still needs to clear in colour. His head, eye and expression are just right for his age and he had well placed ears. His neck and body shape are all you would want, and he has good bone. Moved soundly and as he matures will continue to uphold this kennel’s reputation. 2. McKendrick’s, Aplolex Covasation Peace at Wesanya. 3. Hindes’s, Foxearth Olivers Footprint to Chienoir.

JD. 1. Hines’, Foxearth Olivers Footprint to Chicnior. Sable who has lovely eye and expression. His rear movement was really so good. He just needs to tighten a little in front then will be heard of many times.

PGD. 1. Evans’, Rowvale Stormrising at Southcombe. A well grown tri with abeautiful neck and outline in top condition. He has good bone, legs and feet and this all combines to ensure his first class movement. Head, eye and expression all appeal and he showed well. A very young male.

LD. 1. Tucks’, Dark Mofit from Missoff. Tri who is such a good mover. Appeals in head, eye and expression. Has a good neck and outline with a good depth of rib. He was in beautiful condition. Would prefer a lower set to complete the picture. 2. Hindes’, Astrellita Just William at Chicnior. Dark sable in super condition. He has a good head, clean stop and a good skull. Pleasing neck and body shape. Hind movement was good but just fails a little in front.

OD. 1. MacGregor’s, Ch. Moonwalker from Misstoff. CC and BOB. The first time I have seen this young male but was immediately attracted to him. I thought him to be outstanding. He has a most beautiful neck and outline and he was in such great condition. He was so well presented and showed off at all times. His head is so well balanced with a good muzzle and underjaw. Clean stop, flat skull a lovely eye and expression topped off by well placed ears. Good bone, legs and feet, excellent front and rear angulation. Really drives round the ring and his handler got the best from him at all times. I could not have wished for more, must be able to give so much to the breed. 2. Haywood’s, Ch. Fido Fax at Foxearth. RCC. Quality blue merle of lovely type. Pleasing head, eye and expression. Correct in neck and outline and is a very sound mover. He was well presented and shows his well placed ears to advantage. He is now a very worthy champion. On the day just couldn’t match the winner’s enthusiasm. 3. Whitingham’s, Southcombe Sterling.

MPB. 1. Hyde’s, Foxearth Fondant. A feminine sable of beautiful type. I liked her eye and expression. Just needs to fill a little in muzzle to complete a lovely head type. She has an excellent neck and body shape and she is so sound on the move for one so young. She was well presented and shows her well placed ears to advantage. BPB. 2. Sewell’s, Foxearth Flicker of Hope. Another sable bitch similar type to winner. She has a pleasing head, would just prefer a shade sweeter in eye. She has a lovely neck and body shape and moves soundly front and rear. A good neck and outline and sound on the move. She will mature into a very nice bitch. 3. Hindes’, Chicnior Quintessential.

PB. 1. Curtis’s, Snuggletooth Flurry’s Filly. Tri bitch such a feminine puppy of lovely type. She has a good head clean in stop with sweet expression. Her neck and outline is all you could wish for and she was sound on the move on good legs and feet. When she matures will be one to reckon with without a doubt. Presented in lovely condition. 2. Hydes’, Foxearth Future Magic. Sable of pleasing type a little bigger than winner so needs more time to mature. She has a good head, eye and expression, and a good shape. She moved well both front and rear. 3. Howarth’s, Foxearth Swede’n Tender at Crownbred.

JB. 1. McKendrick’s, Hiltarn High Tide at Wesanya. Tri of pleasing type. Excellent neck and outline. She has a clean head, good stop and expression. In good coat and condition. She moved and showed well. 2. Gay’s, Hilton Kiri at Yagane. Blue bitch a little heavily marked but a good blue colour. She is feminine in her outline and has a good head and expression. A pleasing outline and a sound mover. In good coat and condition. Should mature on the right lines.

PGB. 1. Speding’s, Antoc Fasciantion. RCC. Gave her dam her third CC and loved the daughter. This tri has a beautiful neck and body shape and is in top coat and condition. Her clean head with a good stop, eye and expression all appealed and she uses her well placed ears to make the best of herself at times. She comes together so well on the move. Sound both front and rear. Was presented and handled so well. Without doubt as she matures will join her dam in the upper house. 2. Hill’s, Devern Dark Mistress. Tri of very similar type to winner but couldn’t match her movement. She has a good head and expression and a pleasing neck and outline. She showed well and was in good condition. 3. McKendrick’s, Hiltarn High Tide at Wesanya.

LB. 1. Theobold’s, Foxearth Phoebe. Very attractive blue of good colour. She has a lovely head, eye and expression. Well placed ears and she used them well. I liked her neck and outline and her body shape. Showed in her movement. In lovely coat and condition. I’m sure she will gain her title. 2. Hill’s, Devern Blue Silhouette. Another blue slightly taller than the winner but of excellent type. She has a pleasing head, eye and expression with a good neck and body shape. Nice bone and body and in good coat. On the day she moved a little close. 3. Wilson’s, Hiltarn Captivating for Salstone.

OB. 1. Lister’s, Ch. Newarp Jesena Moonlight Sonata. CC. A lovely coloured blue of beautiful type. I liked her head with a clean stop and well placed eye giving a sweet expression. Ears on top and well used. Ideal body shape and still sound on the move. In top condition and coat that was so well presented. In a close challenge she pulled out all the stops to take the CC her third I was told later. 2. Wilson’s, Hiltarn Jaguar from Encinos. Blue of a slightly taller type to winner but has many of the same qualities. Lovely head type with a pleasing expression. Correct in neck and outline and in good coat and condition. She moved so soundly and showed well. A very attractive bitch. 3. Moore’s, Ch. Manordelfi Silver Serenade.
