My thanks to the committee for the invitation to judge the Smooth Collies at their Open Show and to my very efficient stewards. My thanks also to the exhibitors who came despite the appalling weather conditions which had thankfully improved for the drive home. Yearling Dog (1 entered, 0 absent) 1st Kinsey's Westbridge Blue Field. 15 months Blue Merle. Very unsettled. Good wedge head, length of neck, level topline. Difficult to assess on the move as not with his owner and not settled. Needs more substance. Limit Dog (2, 0) 1st Kinsey's Sturtmoor Khaos of Kaswyn. Shaded sable of good size and substance. Well rounded foreface, correct stop, level topline and good rear angulation. RBD. 2nd Moore's Manordiefi Bow Regard. Very similar to the winner but I preferred the expression and ears of 1. Open Dog (1,0) 1st Cole's Champion Sturtmoor Dream of Kasvelyn. I liked this boys head and expression, length of neck, well laid back shoulder. I'd like a little more length of back. BD. Veteran Dog/ Bitch (1,1) Yearling Bitch (4,3) 1st Moore's Blamorder Ridin on a Rainbow to Manordiefi. Wellgrown 7 months tricolour of good substance. Head is of good type for her age but her ears are a little wayward at the moment. Well constructed, with lovely long tail. Moved well. BPIB, BPIS. Limit Bitch (6,4) 1st Flower's Breckamore Butterfingers ShCM Tricolour with wedge head and well placed ears that she never stopped using. Good length of neck, well laid back shoulder, good length of tail and bend of stifle. Quality bone. RBB, RBOB. 2nd Moore's Tomalca Buttons N� Bows at Manordiefi. Sable with medium sized dark eye, flat skull, ears a little wayward. Preferred the shoulder and upper arm of 1. Open Bitch (2,1) 1st Gay's Yagane's Lavender Mist. Blue Merle. Good foreface, correct stop and flat skull. Well placed eyes and ears giving a lovely expression. Very well laid back shoulder and best upper arm placement here today giving depth of chest.
