I would like to thank the club for my invite to judge the Smooths and for your entries which accumulated to 18 in total. However, it was rather disappointing to have only 8 dogs present on the day! LD (2,1) 1 Leach's Manordeifi Dionysus At Hilltarn - RBD. Masculine blue dog with lively personality who is well broken in colour. He has a good length of head with well filled muzzle, dark eye and flat skull. Straight front and firm back with good bone and substance. A little more length of neck would enhance his outline, and being moved a little quicker would improve his gait. OD (2,1) 1 Benton & Wood's Oakestelle Vivaldi (Ch) BD, BOB, RBIS/BOSIS. Tri dog who I judged 15 months ago. He still retains a lovely profile with a wedge shaped head, equally balanced, long neck, good width and depth to chest and level back. Although a little short in upper arm, he extends quite well on the move, but still needs to close in a little on the rear. Despite already holding his title at only 3.5 years he still has the potential to reach his best with the attributes he possesses. PGB (3,1) 1 Forbe's Willowhurst Vanity. Tri bitch of 2.5 years who I also judged as a young puppy. She is maturing on well, showing a nice outline in profile with fair length of neck, well developed chest, correct stifles and long tail. Her head could be a little more refined, and she still needs to be a little more co-ordinated on the move, but she stands and shows well, and is in good physical condition. 2 Brown's Blamorder Back In Town. Another tri bitch of 3 years, of nice size and good body ratios. Sufficient length of neck with good spring of rib, and well angulated front, but a little more angulation would benefit her rear. Her head lacks a little sweetness in expression compared to one, but she is a keen show girl, and very attentive to her handler. LB (5,3) 1 Sweeney's Plaisance Blue Belle - RBB. Blue bitch of 3 years with a very feminine head, supported by a well placed eye, slight stop and well set ears, albeit a little lightly tipped. Ample neck, good shoulder angulation and straight front with sufficient length of back and slight rise over the loins. I would prefer a little more bend of stifle and shorter hock, but she moved quite soundly, keeping straight coming and going. 2 Forbe's Natalian Kilkenny At Willowhurst (Imp Rus) S/W of 2.5 years who is up to size with plenty of bone and substance. Her head is slightly short in type, and her skull could be leaner, but she is soundly built and in good fit condition sporting a harsh black coloured coat with rich tan markings. She stands and shows well, but still needs to be a little more co-ordinated on the move. OB (4,3) 1 Benton's Oakestelle Venus De Milo. B/M who has also come on well since I last judged her. Litter sister to BD, but with a leaner head which still needs to fill in foreface. She displays a long neck and good layback of shoulder, with good spring of rib, strong loins and correctly set tail. She moves well in front, but appears wide at the rear. She is well schooled and unites well with her owner. VD/B (1) 1 Benton's Alopex Marionette At Oakestelle - BB - RBOB - BVIB. Blue bitch who I have had the pleasure of judging throughout the stages of her life form puppy to adulthood. I have written much about her in the past, and could only reiterate here my previous comments. She is now a veteran and even so is still a nice example of the breed and in all probability worthy of her title, but not sure she will achieve this now having reached the grandeur of her years. Maybe she will prove me wrong
