Thanks to the Officials & Committee for inviting me to judge the Smooths at this very friendly well-run show.  The atmosphere was great, and being outside on grass was a real bonus.  I enjoyed my day very much. Thanks also to Gwen for the lovely lunch.

VETERAN D/B
BENTON’S ALOPEX MARIONNETTE OF OAKESTELLE.  Just into veteran class.  I have admired this lovely bitch from the ringside many times over the years and she still pleases me.  Although the colouring on her face has faded she still appeals for her very feminine overall quality.  She is balanced throughout with excellent shoulder, reach of neck and level topline.  Her head handles well, all in proportion, clean foreface, sweet eye and expression, and such lovely well placed ears which she used all the time.  Moved effortlessly. BB & BOB.

OPEN DOG
1.  GRIFFITHS’ ALOPEX MATT FINISH. Solid, well-built tri of 9 years.  Truly black with full white collar and very clean.  Presented a good picture, standing 4 square on well-boned legs and feet.  Obviously he adores his handler.  Moved very vell, but had to bow to Marionnette on showmanship. BEST DOG & RES .BOB.
2.  COLE’S STURTMOOR DREAM OF KASVELYN.  18 months old.  This is the sable colour I love.  Deep and rich.  He has a nice head, sweet eye and expression. Moved and showed ok.  Could have a bright future if he allows himself to be handled.

PUPPY BITCH
RUSSELL’S BRECKAMORE BITTERSWEET FOR KOCZKODAN.  Very pretty 6months tricolour.  Very well behaved for one so young.  Head is clean with correct stop.  Sweet eyeand expression and neat ears, which she used. Moved very well and attentive to her handler.BPIB & BPIS.

JUNIOR BITCH
HARTLEY’S FOXEARTH FINNISH AT JIMJACK.  15 months eye-catching tricolour.  Very clean head with nice rich tan markings on foreface.  Correct placed stop, sweet eye and neat ears which she used. Moved very well and attentive to handler. RBB

OPEN BITCH
1.  GRIFFITHS’ ALOPEX LITTLE SUMMER.  Rich sable/white. Beautifully presented as you would expect from this exhibitor.  Balanced, with level topline. Good shoulder and reach of neck.  Sweet eye and expression Moved well.
2.  BENTON’S OAKESTELLE VENUS DE MILO.  Eye-catching blue I thought would be the winner of this class.  Lovely clean head, sweet eye and expression, neat ears, correctly placed which she used non-stop. Completely in tune with her handler.  However, movement did not please.
