Thank you Midland Collie
for the opportunity to judge Smooth Collies at your Open show. I enjoyed my
day immensely. Movement was difficult to assess at times as some were moving
wide behind, maybe to compensate for the slippery floor. Some dogs could
have been cleaner, and some teeth need a little attention. J (4, 2) 1
Trundley's Blamorder Back To The Future. 15 months blue dog of quality,
lovely blue colour, well broken, loved his head and expression, ears a
little light at times. Super neck and well laid shoulders, loved his outline
and hindquarters, just edged on movement. More animated than the Open Dog to
take Best Dog. 2 Lusty's Blamorder Back With A Dream. Litter sister to
above, harlequin in colour, a lovely shaped bitch, unfortunately her ears
were pricked which did spoil her expression. Sweet temperament. Moved ok for
her handler, but a little naughty standing. PG (5, 1) 1 Trundley's Blamorder
Back To The Future. 2 Benton's Oakestelle Venus De Milo. Super coloured blue
bitch, needs to fill out. Sweet head and expression with really good ears.
Well arched neck, straight front and well angulated behind, looked good in
profile standing and moving but moving a little wide behind. OD (4, 1) 1
Griffiths' Alopex Matt Finnish. 8 yr old tri dog, nice head, with good ear
carriage, but a little round in eye, strong neck, and good angulations fore
and aft, moved soundly for his runner, but would like more enthusiasm on the
move. BVIB. 2 Trundley's Juniperwood Kings Of Kings. Has lost a lot of
weight since I last saw this dog to his benefit, really liked him to go
over, best mover in the class, possibly the entry, liked his head, good
neck, more the type I like, but just would not use his ears at all. Well
presented in lovely coat. 3 Benton's Oakestelle Vivaldi. Completed a trio of
nice dogs, at that teenage stage, just needs to settle and body up, moved
well. OB (8, 3) 1 Lusty's Juniperwood Just A Dream. An easy winner for me on
the day, had no hesitation in awarding her BB & BOB and thrilled to see her
go Best in Show. Loved her super outline with a strong arch neck into good
shoulders, straight front, good feet, liked her head and sweet expression
and correct shaped eye, used her ears constantly and moved effortlessly. for
me a girl who should go to the top. 2 Benton's Alopex Marionette At
Oakestelle. Another lovely coloured blue, well broken, straight front, well
sprung ribs, well arched neck, real showgirl, stands and shows non stop, not
the movement of first, and preferred the head of her daughter in Post
Graduate for Reserve Bitch.
