Thank you to the exhibitors for a quality entry all of
which were correctly presented and of excellent temperament. My fellow judge
and I agreed on the BIS Awards. SMOOTH COLLIE: VD/B (4) 1
Robinson's Ch Hilltarn Valentine JW. 9 years tri b in good coat and excellent
condition. Has well proportioned head, pleasing expression, good length of neck
and back. Correct angulation and layback of shoulders, deep chest and well
sprung rib cage. Standing she makes a pleasing picture and moved true covering
the floor with reach and drive. BVIB. BVIS. 2 French's Lilymean Amazing Grace.
A quality B/M b. with lovely wedge shaped head, neat well placed ears which she
knows how to use and has a pleasing expression Good reach of neck, balanced
body with good angulation front and rear. Expertly handled and showed and moved
with style. 3 Burgess's Lilymean Appanachi. PD (3) 1 French's
Foxearth Flock Master for Breckamore. 9 month tri won with lots to spare. Still
needs to develop in some of the finer head points but this will come in time.
Has a good length of head, alert well placed ears and dark eyes all combining
to give a pleasing expression. The arch of neck together with his length of
back and depth of chest gives one the most pleasing picture of his shape. For
one so young covers the ground effortlessly. BP. RBD. BPIS. 2 Forbes' Natalain
Veni Vidi Vici at Willowhurst. Loved the expression of this S/W with his dark
well placed eyes and neat alert ears which he knew how to use. Has good overall
balance, ample neck, pleasing body shape, length of back and one of the few
with a super long tail. Moved with confidence, still needs to tighten at the
rear but at 7 months has plenty of time. 3 Cook's Ryecombe Duncan Disorderly at
Kimbru. JD (1) 1 Bott's McClelland Hot Shot. Appealing S/W with
good heat pattern. Dark correctly placed eyes, small semi erect ears used
constantly and set correctly to enhance his soft but masculine expression. Firm
back with rise over the loin area, deep chest and well spring rib cage. Good
reach of neck and rear quarters showing thigh muscle. One I really liked but
was unsettled on the move and did not cover the floor as well as his
construction suggested. PGD (1) 1 Howe's Dawcher Dawn's
Sunrise. S/W d. No mistaking his gender. Although a tad strong for me has a
balanced head of good length, good eye shape and placement, alert ears, rounded
muzzle, good head planes all combining to give desired expression. Has depth of
chest, reach of neck into good layback of shoulders. Moved with purpose keeping
his topline. OD (3,2) 1 Forbes' Ch Pelgart Paint It Black At
Willowhurst. A favourite of mine who I have done well twice before and still
admire but had to give way to the ladies today. An upstanding tri looking every
inch a champion, his owner must be very proud of him and his achievements. My
previous remarks still apply. A worthy BD and thank you once again for your
support. JB (3) 1 Robinson's Southcombe Summer Special. A
quality 13 month S/W in excellent coat and condition. So much to like about
her, balanced throughout, head handles well, rounded muzzle, dark eyes, neat
well used ears on top of flat skull. To be a little critical I would prefer a
slightly softer expression but this did not detract. Has good arch of neck into
well muscled second thighs, strong well let down hock joints, moved so true and
covered the ground with drive and purpose. A pleasure to watch. BB. BOB. BIS. 2
Moores' Manordeifi Silver Dazzler. A very pretty B/M with balanced wedge shaped
head, correctly placed stop, expressive eyes and neat ears which all combined
to show off her lovely expression. Excelled in profile, good bone, neat feet,
nicely angulated but a bit of a fidget standing. Moved well, liked her very
much. 3 Bott's Kingrock Bethany For Bardonhill. PGB (1) 1
Moores' Manordeifi Silver Sparkle. B/M of good size and type. Attractive head
and appealing expression, nicely arched neck and length of body, good ribbing,
topline and quarters. Unsettled on the move but when she did get into her
stride moved well enough at the rear but a little wide in front. OB
(5,3) 1 Griffiths' Alopex Little Summer. One I have judged before and this time
was pleased to award her RBB. RBOB. A delightful S/W with the sweetest of
expressions. So feminine, lovely size and shape, good bone and neat feet, clean
head, dark eyes obliquely set, nicely tipped ears which she knew how to use.
Firm back with rise over loin area, nicely angulated and stood correctly. Very
attentive to her handler and moved as one with such an easy stride and drive
from the rear. 2 Benton's Alopex Marionette of Oakestell. Another one I have
done well in the past and still like her. This ultra feminine B/M has lost none
of her appeal only her coat. Lovely wedge shaped head, expressive eyes and
small semi-erect ears set correctly to enhance her sweet expression. Has reach
of neck, length of back, deep chest and well sprung rib cage. Appealing outline
and well balanced. Moved as one would expect from a well made collie. Thank you
for allowing me to judge her again.
