1Open show: I
would like to express my thanks to the committee, my stewards and all exhibitors
for making my day so special and for the friendly atmosphere at the show, it was
a pleasure to be asked to judge here. SMOOTH COLLIE PD 1 White's Foxearth
Frappuccino. Very smart looking tricolour puppy of 11 months, in lovely
condition and put down to the minute. Showing well and making the most of
himself, he has a good clean head of good length, level planes and enough stop,
nicely placed dark eyes. At the moment he is slightly strong in skull but his
head is still developing, very good ear placement and uses them well. Good neck
of good length going into well laid shoulders, good depth of chest ad a level
topline and good turn of stifle and length and set of tail. He scores well on
the move with plenty of drive from the rear, keeping his body shape and topline.
He pulled out all the stops to take Best Dog, BOB and BIS, very well done. JD 1
Howe's Dawcher Dawns Sunrise. Well up to size sable and white, good length f
head and well filled muzzle, quite a nice eye set but I would like to see it a
shade darker. Flat skull. Good overall body shape, moved well but his tail
carriage was not good stood or on the move, which spoilt the whole balance. 2
Robinson's Dawcher Dawns Ray of Light. Sable and white litter brther to the
winner and similar in type. This boy falls away in skull but moves with his tail
correct. ND 1 Howe's Dawcher Dawns Sunrise. PGD 1 Moores' Manordiefi Shadow
Chaser. Tri colour dog with a good head, although strong in skull and I would
prefer a darker eye, having said that he has a lot to like about him. Uses his
ears well and he has a good body shape, good neck and outline and very good
shoulder placement. Good depth of chest, length of back and a nice turn of
stifle and length of tail, which he carried correctly. On the move he came into
his own in the challenge, moving with drive and good front extension, keepig his
topline. Res Best Dog, well done. 2 Russel's Foxearth Fashion Guru. Sable and
white, finer dog all through. He has a nice head, clean and a good length, level
planes, I would prefer a darker eye, neat ears which he uses. Good neck leading
into good body shape, good tail carriage and moved nicely. Nice tight jacket. 3
Page's Norfield Oh What A Knight. LD 1 Hutchins' Colliedach Molloney Ta Tu You.
Tri in good condition, finer dog all through. He has a head of good length with
level planes, his eye could be darker and his ears tighter. Good neck and body
outline, and topline is nicely balanced. Moves well but in the challenge not
quite the extension of the main winners. 2 Woodstock's Shulune Imperial Warrior
at Hylaird. Sable and white, good make and shape, good length of head and level
planes, nice eye and neat ears. Good neck and length of back, well carried tail.
Moved ok. OD 1 Forbes' Int Ch Pelghart Paint It Black at Willowhurst. Tri that I
have done well before. A very nice dog whose head has gone too strong
throughout. He uses his ears well and his construction is good, but on the move
he was not together, and moved erratically in all directions. Vet D 1 Norman
and Ratcliffe's Ch Foxearth Flashpast. Sable and white rising 10 years, what a
lovely classic specimen of the breed. His head is quite lovely, clean and
balanced, with the nicest of eyes and expression, neat ears. When standing he is
so well balanced, length to height with a good elegant neck. A lovely dog but on
the move he was stiff and his movement didn't flow. MPB 1 Trundley's
Juniperwood Jubilation. Promising tricolour just 6 months, a real baby but has
a lot to like about her. Pleasing head qualities, very clean in skull and
pretty, dark almond eyes. Her ears are set right and were tipping nicely, she
has a good neck, nicely balanced bodyshape, tail of good length and moved as you
would expect a baby at her first show, but she did enough. Best Puppy Bitch. 2
Rice's Kingrock Adriel. Tri of 8 months and up to size. Nice type of puppy,
nice head, her eye could be darker, ears were ok. Super long neck, a little steep
in upperarm, good depth of chest. Good topline and nicely turned stifles. Moved
ok. 3 Trundley's Juniperwood Joyful. PGB 1 Russel's Manordeifi Satin Doll. Tri
whose head is not her fortune, it is of good length but far too full in stop,
which flows into her skull making it lumpy. She has neat ears used well. Good
neck and body shape and moved well. 2 Coates' Alopex Blue Moon. Very good
coloured blue merle who is shorter in head and slightly strong in skull, neat
ears which she uses. Good neck and body shape, although I would prefer more turn
of stifle. Moved ok. 3 Moore's Manordeifi Silver Sparkle. LB 1 Griffiths' Alopex
Little Summer. Pretty sable and white, shorter type of head but balanced with
neat, well placed ears. Good length of neck, good ribbing and depth of chest,
good topline, length of back and turn of stifle. Long tail. I thought this young
lady could have been my Best Bitch, she just didn't have the rear drive in the
challenge, a pity. 2 Hutchings' Collidach Molloney Fay Mouse. Good coloured blue
merle, close up to the winner, just didn't have the length of neck. Similar in
type but carrying a little too much weight. 3 Trundley's Lilymead Alicia. OB 1
Robinson's Ch Dawcher Dream Searcher. Tri who is up to size, won this class on
her construction. Pleasing head, stop correct and a nice eye and well filled
muzzle, neat ears. Good reach of neck and outline, deep chest, well turned
stifles and long tail. Sound on the move. Res Best Bitch. 2 Griffiths' Alopex
Out of the Blue. Another good coloured blue merle from this kennel. Pretty head
with well filled muzzle, flat skull and neat, well placed ears. Good length of
neck leading to well placed shoulders. Good topline and rear angulation, nice
tailset, moved ok. 3 Coates' Starlight Spirit of Pencloda. Vet B 1 Robinson's Ch
Hilltarn Valentine. Tri bitch who is up to size. Again very well constructed
head of good length, clean in outline, skull flat, her eye is of decent shape,
but could be darker, neat and well used ears. Good neck, well placed shoulders
with good rear angulation. Good depth of chest and length of back. Nicely
angulated at the rear and a good tailset. Moved with purpose and drive. Best Vet
and Best Bitch. 2 Sewel's Ch Foxearth Farris via Lewarne. Tri and up to size,
similar remarks apply to this bitch as the winner. Again a sound mover, but lost
her topline stood and on the move. 3 Hutchings' Ch Foxearth Flouresence at
Molloney ShCM. ROUGH COLLIE I would like to thank the RC exhibitors for bringing such
quality dogs under me, the bitch challenge was cracking. JD 1 Blake's Corydon
Spot the Difference. Upstanding tri dog, a definate male without being coarse.
Super bone and condition, he has a super head of good length with correct stop
and a pleasing eye, flat skull and neat ears. Super neck leading to a deep
chest, good length of back and turn of stifle, good tail and carriage. In good
coat and furnishings. Moved well - a dog with a good future and could do the
breed well. Res Best Dog. 2 Cozen's Bhyllsacre Razzle Dazzle. Sable and white of
different type to the winner. Pleasing head with sweet almond eye, a little
strong in skull, neat ears. Good neck and outline, wasn't as positive on the
move. 3 Gardener's Jamesfair Alldoneandusted. PGD 1 Geddes' Ingledene Legend in
Black. Tri whose movement is so sound, true and effortless, lovely to watch. He
is well boned and so well constructed, but his head was just not for me: it s of
good length, well filled muzzle and a nice eye, but deep through and his ears
are too low set for me. LD 1 Smedley's Antoc Ice N Fire. Blue merle in full coat
of good colour. You can see his breeding just looking at him. He has a refined
head of length, nice eyes and his ears are small, but he is reluctant to use
them, but he did enough. Lovely neck and outline, well turned stifles, moved ok.
Best Dog. PB 1 Randal's Ladnar Skyelark. Lovely coloured blue merle in good
coat, pleasing head and eye and neat, well placed ears. Super neck and outline
nicely boned. So well balanced from nose to tail, moved well. Best Puppy Bitch.
JB 1 Regan's Rosschell Blue Crystalball. Sable and white, inbetween coats and
such a fidget. Clean head with neat ears, eye could be darker and not quite the
make and shape I was looking for. PGB 1 Stevens' Boughlee Winter Blues. Slightly
heavier marked blue merle, although she was a good colour. Another of good make
and shape, in good coat. Good length of head, flat skull and filled muzzle, neat
ears, good neck and outline and she moved well. 2 Randal's Ladnar Mystic Maid.
Tri, smaller in type to the winner. Pretty headed girl, I would prefer a darker
eye. Nice make and shape and moved well. 3 Sargeant's Coarhabeg Kaleidoscope. LB
1 Stevens' Boughlee Midnight Sky. Tri in full coat and put down to perfection.
In super condition and another who is lovely in type. Good head, eye and ear
carriage. Super neck and outline, good ribbing and bone and she moved with
drive. A really nice bitch. Res Best Bitch. 2 Smedley's Francheska from Antoc.
Blue merle of good colour, inbetween coats at present. Different in type to my
winner, shorter in back and slightly higher in the leg, pleasing eye and ear
carriage. Moved ok. OB 1 Blakes' Corydon Follow Me. Sable and white of lovely
type. Super expression from correct, well set and placed medium sized almond
eye, rearely seen these days. Head of good type, clean and balanced with a flat,
clean skull, slightly shorter in back than I usually go for, but nicely put
together. I thought her lovely and she moved with drive and has that certain
something that should take her to the top. BOB and Res BIS. 2 Geddes' Ingledene
Just One Night. Sable and white and another quality bitch who is made correctly.
Good head piece and body shape, in good coat and condition. Reluctant to use her
ears but moved with drive. 3 Sargeant's Coarhabeg Blowing in the Wind.
