It was a privelege to judge a lovely entry of this beautiful breed on a lovely summers day outside with a supersized ring so they were seen at their best. Tail carriage has improved since my last engagement. On the day there was a lack of young stock waiting in the wings. The quality from the Post Graduate classes in both sexes was excellent. MPD (1) 1 Page's Norfield Oh What A Knight. Sable with happy temperament, good length of tail and turn of stifle, good markings. Needed to calm down a bit in this class but as the day progressed he started to get the message. Best Puppy Dog. PD (1) Repeat. JD (4,1) 1 Stilgoe's Manordeifi Storm Shadow of Yeldust. Tri 14m.o. Appears high on the leg at the meomnt, moved well with correct tail carriage, good depth of chest, his alert expression won him this class, could do with a little more body weight. 2 Norfield's Oh What A Knight. 3 Purvey's Freejack Mignight Dazzler. PGD (4,1) 1 Moore's Manordeifi Storm Breaker. All male tri who won this class on his extended flowing movement keeping his topline well. Alert, intelligent expression, flat skull. Could easily be another star for this loyal supporter of the breed. 2 Winter & Unwin's Rowvale River of Fortune at Snowtrekka. Good coloured blue of classic shape, good eye and expression, had the depth of chest I like to find in a working breed. Very close up to the winner, am sure they will change places many times. 3 Trundley's Juniperwood King of Kings. LD (5) 1 Winter & Unwin's Sturtmoor Alexavia at Snowtrekka. 3 y.o. tri with very good tan markings, very typy with excellent expression, flat skull, good wedge head with lovely moulded foreface. Looked good standing and moving keeping his topline at all times. 2 Griffith's Alopex Sky Master. Good quality blue of lovely colour, good wedge head with flat skull with alert masculine expression. Was a free mover and overall was a good honest collie. 3 Purvey's Freejack Royal Knight. OD (7) A lovely class. 1 Asikane & Lahtinen's Sandcastles True Topic. Very handsome tri whose jet black coat gleamed with condition. Really tight fitting jacket. Standing has impassive dignity and ring presence. Flat skull, classic expression, correct ear carriage and great reach of neck which used to best advantage. Movement was true in each direction and completely effortless. After judging I learnt he had recently gained his crown. BOB & RBIS. Congratulations. 2 Evan's Ch Manordeifi Smart Guy at Southcombe. Smart sable in excellent condition. Overall he completes a very pleasing picture. Typical head and expression with well rounded muzzle and good underjaw, extended well on the move and at 6 years old showed a good example of a dog worthy of his title. 3 Griffith's Alopex Matt Finnish. VD (3) Evan's Rowvale Storm Rising at Southcombe. Tri who gleamed with health and condition. He retained a good head pattern and was keen to show off his virtues. Standing his good reach of neck and turn of stifle stood out, I particularly liked his good shoulder placement. RBD. 2 Wallis' Norfield Tin Star. Blue of decent type, of good colour and in good condition. Harsh feel to coat, carried himself well on the move, good length of tail, not quite the ring presence of the winner. 3 Hill's Devern Blue Horizon. MPB (1) 1 Wallis' Norfield Scarlet Rose. Pretty sable completely in awe of the situation and was reluctant to be handled. Nicely marked, good ears when she briefly used them and moved reasonably well. Hope in time she will get to enjoy showing. PB (2) 1 Hill's Devern By Design. Confident attractive sable who did well for herself on the move, good body shape, nice expression with dark eye. Ear carriage a bit erratic at present, other than that found her very appealing. Best Smooth Puppy. 2 Wallis' Norfield Scarlet Rose. N (2,1) 1 Campbell's Glencorrie Dusky Diva. Smart tri with good tan markings in good body condition, very alert, neat feet, carried herself well on the move. Well muscled hindquarters should do well in the future. PGB (4) 1 Purvey's Freejack A Touch Of Magic. Blue of good colouring, feminine head with good reach of neck. Alert expression, correct rise to the loin and moved very well. Feel she could win in any company on todays showing. 2 Stilgoe's Foxearth Fatal Beauty at Yeldust. Like this one a lot, typically feminine, good type head, eye and expression, was not putting all in today and did not show as well as the winner. 3 Trundley's Juniperwood Final Affair. LB (6,1) Griffith's Alopex Out Of The Blue. Very feminine, well balanced head, attentive expression, topped by good ear carriage which she knew how to use, well muscled and had an effortless free flowing movement. RBB. 2 Robinson's Dawcher Dream Searcher. 3 moore's Manordeifi Silvadora. The next two classes contained some of the nicest Smooths I have ever judged. OB (6,2) 1 sewell's Ch. Foxearth Farris Via Lewarne. Gorgeous true coloured, fit tri with good tan markings. Alert intelligent expression within a well balanced head. Energetic movement keeping topline and extending well so covered the ground with ease. She is a lovely ambassador for the breed. BB. RBOB. 2 Robinson's Ch. Hilltarn Valentine JW. 6 y.o. Smart sable in good coat and condition and very sound. Well muscled, correct rise to the loin, very neat feet, moved and showed well with plenty of drive. Not quite the ring presence of the winner but very close up. 3 Moore's Manordeifi Silva Dawn. VB (8,4) 1 Robinson's Ch. Southcombe Sweet As A Nut. Aptly named as she really is a beautiful girl who as soon as she enetered the ring demanded my attention constantly, shows like a bomb, the best of expression, still retains a well balanced head to handle, movement was free and agile. She certainly kept the flag flying for the sables today. BV Smooth. 2 Garnett's Sharidon Miss American Pie at Knipes. This lovely 12 y.o. tri has completely ignored growing old. Came into the ring, took up position and said 'look at me.' Still has a good head, fabulous reach of neck, sound on the move and was presented in first class order. Learnt afterwards that she has recently gained her crown. She really is a credit to her owner. I'm sure she must have many fans and I would like to be added to the list. 3 Hills' Ch. Devern Blue Silhouette. Brace (4) 1 Hill's well matched very good coloured blue, move in complete unison together around the ring. 2 Moore's blue merles who moved well together and were close up. 3 Wallis' sables.
