I thank the officers & Committee for the invitation to judge their show. As an ex exhibitor of Collies it was, as always, a friendly club & remains so today. Because of the horrendous weather just days before the show a splendid entry was depleted by absentees who were unable to get to the venue. On the day however the sun shone all day & we were able to judge outside on grass that was a little 'lumpy' & not allowing for true movement & some Smooths move wide on rear. The referee was called for all major decisions. COLLIE (SMOOTH): PD (6). 1 Moore's Manor Deifi Storm Breaker, 11 mths. Tri of good size & shape. Clean wedged head, dark eye, good ear set. Ample reach of neck, correct topline, well off for bone. In good coat of correct texture & length. Moved well, showed well; 2 Keen's Manor Deifi Paisley Blue. As the name suggests a B/M of good colour, 10 mths & not as mature as 1. Pleasing head pattern. Straight front, firm topline & moved well; 3 Purvey's Freejack Royal Knight. SYD (4). 1 Manordeifi Storm Breaker; 2 Winters & Unwin's Sturtmoor Alexavier Odessy At Showtrekka. Upstanding Tri d, good reach of neck, correct topline. Pleasing eye. Nice turn of stifle. Moved well. OD (3). 1 Purvey's Freejack The Highlander, Tri. Pleasing outline, correct height to length ratio, super front angles, lovely reach of neck, firm topline, rise over loins, nice turn of stifle. Moved soundly. Head is refined with good well placed stop, dark almond eye giving required expression. BD; 2 Davis's Sharison Anything Goses At Keenacre. Another quality Tri. Not the eye of 1 but pleasing head pattern. Nice front. Moved & showed well. RBD. PB (8). 1 Purvey's Freejack A Touch Of Magic. V feminine B/M. She reminded me of a Blue b I gave BP & BOB some yrs ago at British Collie. Lovely outline, good reach of neck, lay of shoulder & nice angles & length of upper arm. Clean refined head, almond eye correctly set giving desired expression, well placed stop & moulded foreface, well set ears which she used constantly. Firm topline & good bend of stifle, well let down hocks, neat feet. Movement was free & easy. BP & BOB; 2 Moore's Manordeifi Silvadora. Slightly larger than 1 but of good type. Good head & eye, reach of neck & firm topline. Good mover. RBB; 3 Moore's Manordeifi Penny Blue. SYB (2). 1 Manordeifi Silvadora; 2 Moore's Manordeifi Penny Blue. 3 in P. Nice type, good head & eye. Ample length of neck, good turn of stifle. Moved well. Not the eye of 1 & 2 in P. OB (2). 1 Purvey's Chichor Lil's Little Love Via Shuggletooth. Feminine B/M. Nice head & eye, good ear set. Good reach of neck, adequate front & rear angulation, firm topline. Moved well in front, a little wide behind.
