Many thanks to the officers and
committee of the club, as well as to the exhibitors, for a memorable day. It was
so good to judge such a sound breed, where every exhibit possessed a
well-muscled loin! However, I was not impressed with presentation. Over-handling
does not make up for not bathing and grooming! I used far more wet wipes than I
would after judging Roughs! V (6) 1 Seldon's Ch Merland Midnight Marauder. What
a wonderful dog for lltt! He was in gleaming condition and so fit! He easily had
the best hind extension of the day, putting all the youngsters to shame. I would
like a bit more size and substance, but he just stood out on the day. I was
pleased to award him Res Best Dog. 2 Sewells' Ch Foxearth Farah. 9 year old b
with a beautiful head and expression, super construction and movement. She had
lost a lot of tan and looked older than 1st, but she was another excellent
smooth, a pleasure to judge. 3 French's Delmbush Cracker!Ack At Frendet. A very
smart and glamorous 7 year. b/m d, with a super head and construction. I would
like a firmer topline. P (9) This was a very difficult class to assess, due to
widely varying sizes and types. 1 Hindes' Chicnoir Icebreaker. 6 months tri d at
his first show. I fell for his excellent eye shape and placement, well-balanced
head and super ears. He has plenty of growing to do, but had plenty of bone and
a splendid front. I did not like his colour, and it will need to clear
considerably if he is to continue to be shown successfully. Best Puppy in Breed.
2 Hindes' Chicnoir Ice Master. B/m brother of 1st. This lad could do very well,
but he had a large "egg" over his skull. Once it has flattened, his excellent
eye shape, construction, substance and well-broken colour should stand him in
good stead. 3 Moores' Manordeifi Sheherazade. S/w b of a super rich colour. I
liked her refined head, expression and feminine size. I wish she was more
elegant in body shape - I would like more wither. Best Puppy b. J (4) 1 Clark's
Derbypark Starstruck. A very feminine and elegant tri b completely at one with
her handler, without any unnecessary leg-placing. Her head was well-balanced
with a lovely eye and expression. I wish she had more front angulation, but she
moved very soundly. One to watch. Res Best Bitch. 2 Moores' Manordeifi Silver
Dawn. I remember seeing this lass as a stunning puppy. I preferred her body
shape to the winner's, as she was better angulated. However, I found her to be
quite big enough, and her expression could be more feminine. She powered round
the ring, but her sickle tail ruined the picture for me. 3 Hindes' Snuggletooths
Fillys Fellow At Chicnoir. Tri d with a lovely shape and strong movement. I
found his head balanced, with a well-shaped eye, but he was quite broad in
skull. PGD (2) 1 Hindes' Chicnoir Best Mate. S/w d of super size, shape and
substance. He had a very masculine head, without a trace of coarseness. I would
prefer firmer hind movement. LD (2) 1 Hindes' Chicnoir Snow Wolfe. A
well-coloured b/m who I found to be quite short and stocky all over. He had a
well-balanced and filled head, with an excellent shaped and placed eye. He was
carrying a bit of extra weight, which was evident in his movement. OD (2) 1
Hinde's Chicnoir Quartermaster. I just adored this s/w d's expression, balanced
head and moulded foreface. Last time I judged him, he needed more condition.
This time, he had a touch too much! However, his overall balance in outline and
his firm movement made him a worthy BD and BOB. With a little less weight, a
keener attitude and a more laid back handler, he should go onto great things. 2
Wills' Merland Mystery Man Of Jarlana. Tri d who was 5th in the very strong
veteran class. A lovely shape and colour, though his coat was quite open. He had
good ears and super dark eyes, but his head planes could have been more level.
PGB (3) 1 Sewells' Foxearth Flicker Of Hope. An outstanding s/w. I loved her
balance, size, shape, beautiful head and expression. However, she was not
enjoying her day, which precluded her from higher honours. 2 French's Chicnoir
Eternal Star At Frendet. Tri b with a lovely shape, strong movement and super
showmanship. Her head, although well-balanced, did not have the refinement of
the winner's. 3 Seldon's Chicnoir Golden Charm At Merland. A fantastic showgirl,
but I found her to be unbalanced in head, as she was rather high above the eyes.
LB (5) 1 Hill's Devern Dark Mistress. Tri with a super shaped and placed eye,
and really tight ears. I found her a little chunky in head, but with her
feminine size, balanced body shape and strong movement, she was a worthy class
winner. 2 Robinsons' Southcombe Sweet As A Nut. S/w with a super shape and
driving movement. I would prefer a more almond eye shape, and I found her a
touch long in foreface. 3 Wilson's Hilltarn Jaguar From Encinas. Well-coloured
b/m of a nice feminine size and shape, with a well-balanced head. I would like
tighter ear carriage and a firmer topline. OB (3) 1 Hill's Devern Blue
Silhouette. A b/m of a lovely colour, size and shape. Sister of the limit b
winner. She had a very interesting head, with almost too much stop. Her
well-placed and shaped dark eyes gave her a feminine expression, coupled with
her super tight ears. She moved very collectedly. Was pleased to award her Best
Bitch, Res BOB and BOS. I shall watch her career with interest. 2 French's
Frendet Fantasia. Tri with a lovely head and eye. However, she was carrying much
too much weight, which affected her body shape and movement. 3 dark's Ch
Lowerpark Pandora At Derbypark. B/m with a very pretty, feminine eye and head. I
would like more front angulation, and she could have been cleaner.
