BOB & RBIS - Hill's Devern Blue Silhouette
BOS & RBOB - Griffiths' Alopex Going Equipped
BP - Bentons' Tentola Smooth Operator of Oakeville
From an entry of
13 smooth collies made up from 11 smooth exhibits, I found my BOB in Hill’s
Devern Blue Silhouette. A well balanced blue merle with good colouring and
markings. Clean, balanced and smooth head with neat ears, good dark eye all
combining to give what I thought was a very appealing feminine expression. Good
reach of neck, well handled. Moved effortlessly around the ring. I was pleased
that she later went on to win Res.B.I.S. Best Dog, B.O.S and Res BOB was
Griffiths’ Alopex going Equipped. Good coloured merle with well broken markings,
balanced conformation, in good condition with good head properties. Well handled
and presented. Very sound mover. Best Puppy (Smooth) Benton’s Tentola Smooth
Operator of Oakaville. Delightful, upstanding s/w dog pup, good bone and
condition, good balanced conformation, clean head, correct ear carriage, happy
alert expression showing his excellent temperament. Moved well. Should have a
bright show future. Others placed: PGB Hill’s Devern Dark Mistress. Tri of good
conformation with harsh black coat. Good reach of neck, happy temperament but
tended to be a bit sloppy on the move carrying her tail a little too high. OB
2nd Griffith’s Alopex Silverster. Pushed hard for Res BOB, but was beaten by her
son for this award. A sound moving blue merle that showed off her excellent
balanced conformation, reach of neck and overall pleasing outline. Good blue
colour with well broken markings, well placed neat ears which she knew how to
use. Well handled, and sound on the move.
