V (4). 1 Leach’s Hilltarn Hopeful. This 9 yr old clear coloured b/m moves freely, well constructed with lovely shoulders, tight feet, reasonable bone, good hind angulation, well balanced; 2 Sewell’s Ch Foxearth Farah. Tri whose coat is in lovely condition, another soundly constructed b with a melting expression, lost mostly on movement, she was a little out at elbow coming towards me; 3 Purvey’s Midnight Magic at Freejack.
P (5). 1 French’s Chicnoir Eternal Star at Frendet. BP. Lovely expression, resulting from good ear carriage and eye shape, size and placement, good reach of neck and well balanced throughout, she could perhaps be a little longer in relation to height; 2 Hindes’ Chicnoir Quartermaster. S/w of good colour and coat, not quite so smooth in movement as one, rather loose in front, ears a little soft yet; 3 Purvey’s Chicnoir Hors-La-Loi-LLL.
J (1). 1 Robinson’s Southcombe Sweet As A Nut. Head generally of good proportions, perhaps eye could be a little better shape, good strong thighs, pasterns slightly too sloping, good coat texture and colour, moved well with drive.
PGD (2). 1 Hindes’ Chicnoir Flashback. Sweet, if slightly feminine expression, not the biggest of males but soundly made in spite of rather light bone, won on movement, level top line, good drive; 2 Hill’s Devern Blue Horizon. Preferred the head though not such a sweet expression as 1, lost top line on the move and carried his tail rather high, good colour b/m.
LD (5). 1 Will’s Merland Mystery Man of Jarlana. Head planes good and pleasant expression, good black tricolour, nicely balanced, good spring of rib, not perfect on the move coming towards me, in profile moved with drive; 2 Purvey’s Tamboree Jack Frost. Head a little broad but gentle expression, coat curls in ruff, ears slightly heavy, good colour but markings detract, moved quite well in profile but coming was toeing in.
OD (3). 1 French’s Delmbush Crackerjack at Frendet. BD. Head a little heavy but in good proportions, eyes slightly small, well laid back shoulders and good spring of rib, feet rather slight, slightly out at the elbow on the move in class but pulled himself together in challenge, good merle colour.
PGB (8). 1 Robinson’s Hilltarn Highlights. Well constructed b/m, well sprung rib cage, good angulation all through, not surprising that she moved with good drive; 2 Sewell’s Foxearth Flicker of Hope. Thought this would win, melting expression, lovely head, long neck, good shoulder angulation, good hind angulation, hard tight sable jacket, spoilt it all on the move, perhaps she was distracted by the lights but she held her neck vertical to her body thus throwing her front action completely out; 3 Hill’s Devern Dark Mistress.
LB (3). 1 Hill’s Devern Blue Silhouette. B/m, good ears which she used well, eyes none too big but good shape, head well proportioned, pleasant expression, good hind angulation, very good compact feet, coat colour and texture gd, moves very well; 2 French’s Frendet Fantasia. Good colour tri, good head and expression, well set eats, well used, feet rather splayed, proportion length to height a little low.
OB (5). 1 Curtis
Ch Snuggletooth’s Flurry’s Filly. BOB and RBIS. What a super little b, lovely
expression, head almost all you could wish for, long graceful neck, well laid
shoulders, good body, spring of rib, strong back, rear angulation balancing the
front and top it all with a super dark black tight jacket, she moved easily,
lightly covering the ground, she is still only a youngster, I shall watch her
future with interest; 2 Leach’s Hilltarn Hopeful. RBOB; 3 Theobald’s Ch Foxearth
Phoebe.
